*d2mini's new 200g Reeftastic Build*

Best of luck with moving, family comes first of course!

Looking forward to follow new buildadventures!

I've already stole all your ideas in my build. Time for you to come up with some new ones :D. Best of luck with the move, Dennis!

Best of luck Dennis, I am sure we will see you sooner then later my friend.

Corey
Oh it will definitely be sooner. Like I said above, just waiting to get my hands on that 25g Lagoon and then it's on like donkey kong. ;)
Will be a good little interim project.

BAHAHAHA! Nice. :D

Good luck with the move, thanks for the inspiration and advice. I moved to be within 20 min of work and gaining an hour and a half every day was the right decision. I'm sure you'll find a new home that can also allow for your reef hobby.

Damn! There goes my online mentor!

I know you are making the right decision since it is for family but I hate hearing the tank is shutting down.

Good luck Dennis. It's been a pleasure following the progress of your build and look forward to seeing your next endeavor!

Best,
Roland

Good luck Dennis. I haven't gotten around to documenting my build yet but it was fully inspired by your cube...including the internal mounts on the MP-40's. It's not 100% done yet but here are two quick photos.

Maybe tonight I will get the build posted.

Here's just some of the colonies that I have been selling off.
Amazing when you think back to getting small frags and ending up with these colonies after a year or two or three, even with some fragging here and there.
If anyone is in the houston area let me know... still have a few bigger pieces of sps left.

Really wish i could own a piece of your tank. Its been an inspiration to me since i started following along a year and a half ago. By far my favorite system, and I'm sure the next one will be magnificent as well. Gorgeous pictures as always, makes me want to get a good macro lens for my camera.

Wow! Can't believe what I'm reading!!! It's the end of an era. But like you said, family comes first. This build has been so inspirational. I read about your tearing down so I had to search out this thread to find out why. Good luck with the move and I'm excited to see what comes of it. Live has a funny way of interceding in our plans. Good luck.

Dennis, I was linked to your thread because of a question I had about the Cabo Mini reflectors' light spread. I was linked to the page that had the pics of them mounted. It would be too tedious to go through all 135 pages to find a pic of JUST your MH's running. I found the one of just your T5's. Could I trouble you to repost/post such a pic for me?

I'm debating buying the kit from Hamilton. I have a 36x36x12 cube that will only have coral placement approx 28x28....30x30 at most. They don't offer the Large reflector in a kit. I'm trying to save a few bucks and also leave more room for supplemental lighting.

I know you have 3 spread out over 84" which equates to about 28" width each. Did you feel you needed the supplemental?

Thanks in advance. :)

Hi, i don't have a pic with just the MH because I never run it with just the MH. :)

The spread is fine. Even my big clam likes the very front corner of the tank. I move him out away from the corner and he moves himself back in. Between the t5 and the MH you get a good amount of spread. Since you have the cube, you could make the Cebu fixture more square by getting a BML led strip to mount on the front and back of the Cebu. I had the 24" Cebu over my 40b frag tank which is around 36" long and that was good too.

There must be a support group for people who have recently sold gorgeous tanks.

I had to sell my 180 the last time I moved. Now gun shy to start another good sized reef tank.

I left my 220g behind when I left my exhusband. That was March 2012. I'm just now setting up the system in my signature. And I feel like I don't have a clue what the correct products to buy are! It's like I'm starting all over again, literally. And since I literally left every fish tank related piece behind, it is nickel and diming me to death! There is no local reef following, so used equipment is sparse. I've had to buy brand new everything but the tanks themselves and the skimmer they came with. I miss Tampa. lol

Sorry for the hijack. Just...you are not alone!!
