I'm constantly mystified by you Sahin:confused: One minute you cry poormouth and the next your stacking Radion LEDs and talking Tesla electric cars:facepalm:

Matt.....I added an extra picture at the same time you were posting.

Yes, I was scrolling pictures in my phone and had the same though. This guy is another one that wanted to live. He spent months without any growth. What you see today, mostly come from 2015.

Wow Daniel...
Amazing growth man, I think the alk and ca consumption rate increasing is a sign that the tank is settled proper, and that zen balanced is met. I am currently only dosing 30ml per day in my display and frag tank, when I put the frag tank online, then chopped the corals and brought them over to the frag tank, I saw an immediate drop on alk consumption, dialed down to 30ml per day. I test every other day right now, and sure enough, even with large colonies, that is my consumption. I suspect that as the corals encrust back to the rock, I will then start to pull more. Just thought worth mentioning that you are experiencing the opposite to me, as long as you are aware of the shifts, that is all that really matters :) Everything is looking awesome, and that growth rate is insane, hint, hint, wink, wink....seems like upgrade time is coming soon.... Upgrade to a 180 or 200, and use your current display as a fuge :)

I would like to follow the growing of the tips of these 2 corals.

I took these pictures Yesterday, JANUARY 10 2016.

I will update the pictures as soon as I see significant growth.

Cheers
Daniel

Let see in the next posting if these have grown. If you read this wait to post until I finish the next one posting the pictures with the phone......

This is all. Now I belive I know where my Alk is going. I had to increase yesterday another 2 ml of Alk & Ca parts of my bionic . Total dosing volume now 81 ml.

Alk a few minutes ago was 6.4 dkh.

Cheers.....now I will wait to repeat these set of pictures.

Daniel

Ps: watching the green slimer colony pictures I just saw that I am missing a branch. Look in the middle towards the pump wire. Is missing a V.

Today I found 2 more SPS broken. Yesterday the Maroon Clown , that is big like a small whale, was swimming like if he was being chased by a shark. I never saw something like that. It was like the cartoon Flash. Could be he was the cause of the broken SPS ?.....who knows

That's crazy awesome Daniel! I figured the corals were just sucking up the alkalinity! You are proving that low alkalinity doesn't hinder growth at all:)

Amazing growth and husbandry. As a result of your experience, going forward, I plan to keep the alk just under 7 once my tank recovers.

On an unrelated note, I have been following your thread for a good while, but rarely if ever post. Knowing that I'm not one of the regulars, I still felt compelled to share on here that my wife is expecting our fourth child. Likely encouraged by this thread as well. [emoji6]

Congrats on the baby and the stability of your system.

Thank you very much for the compliments !!!!

CONGRATS ON YOUR BABY..... 4 is a good number. They are lovely. We stop 28 years ago. We have 2 adults boys.

All the best and keep looking around, there are MUCH BETTER tanks than mine and reading the threads you learn that there is always something new to know on this hobby.

Cheers and Regards to your wife and say Congrats to her on my behalf.

Thank you Matt !!!

Before AF water my Alk was more around 7-7.5 dkh. I was using IO Reef Crystal.

I remember, when I started and was using Petco Natural Ocean Water that has 7 dkh , that my Alk was always in the lows 6.5 dkh, as now. And dosing was able to keep it just there. Of course, if I increase significantly the dosing volume I will increase the Alk. But the rationale was to keep it around the 7. And it was not easy. Now I am seeing the same effect with AF salt.

If I am able to keep it ~ 6.5 dkh, then I will be happy. What scare me a little is that for the last 3 weeks , more or less, I have been measuring Alk every night. And at least every other day I was forced to increase the dosing volume to keep that Alk level of 6.5 dkh.

Next week I start my business travels and will be out 3-4 days. I was trying to find the sweet spot to keep me relax when out of home. But if this demand of Alk is due to coral growth, then there is no sweet dosing volume. I will need to increase constantly, based on demand.

I will do my last test before my flight on Monday.

Yesterday the full day I dosed 81 ml of bionic. At nigh Alk was 6.4 dkh. I will let it go with that dosing today and also tomorrow. Total will be 3 days and let see if Alk decay to 6 or not. On Monday , if needed, I can increase the dosing volume 2-3 ml and wait till my return on Wednesday night.

Let see.........

Cheers
Daniel

Can anyone ID what are the Aliens I have walking on this Coral.

The video was taken at the middle of last December (2015). I did it as a reference and also to see if the population increased. Nothing happened. The coral continue growing, probably with not the best polyp extension at night, but as always during the day.

Are these Red Bugs ?

I have not seen an increase in their number after a month.

I was waiting to see if I needed to dip the coral. But because the population stay so low, I decided not to touch the coral. This coral has been for almost 2 years in the tank and is a survivor of the original colony after my nutrient crash (it was a small frag after the crash). So I am too attached to the coral to bother him without a real cause.

Please watch the video and provide your comments.

Thanks !!!
Daniel
