Thanks Michael. Yeah, Bryan is a cool guy I've been meaning to get over to his house to check out his tank but haven't quite worked it out yet. I just Googled Ten Ten Seafood Restaurant looks good, might have to bring the family to check out some Dim Sum. I love me some good Dim Sum.:thumbsup:

Yeah we got good Dim Sum, it's everyday until 3. Drop by and I warn you about our work tank. It's not pretty, the guy that takes care of it got lazy and I have no time to try to fix it.

Dan, I'm there 6 days a week. I usually get Wednesdays off, unless they need me to switch with someone. I'm hoping I might get to come over on one of my Weds to come take a look at your tank. Let me know, other than that let me know when you might drop by the restaurant. If you come on a weekend then give me a heads up so you don't have to wait for a table.

Only one tank Kat and I only have a few chalices. I'm more of an acro guy.

Battling some issues…

Battling some issues"¦

I **think** it stems from taking the CA reactor off line to clean it and left it off for about a week which dropped my dKH to 6. When I restarted the reactor I had the bubble count too high and shot my dKH up to 12 over the course of a week. I took the reactor back off line and let it drop back down to 8. Lost two mini colonies, a few frags and now noticed that my purple valida's tips are burnt and starting to lose flesh.:sad1: I've had it for over 2 years and it's about 6 x 4 x 3. It didn't help that one of my ballasts quit on me last week and I did a bulb change a few weeks ago. I gotta tell ya that I've had problems with the Giesemann ballast that were shipped with my pendant from day one. Definitely would not recommend them. Stupid noob mistake, too many changes (issues) at one time.:sad2:

Well another few colonies and frags died over that last few days.:sad1: The good news is that I think I found the problem, the PH probes. Appears that both probes were out of calibration and reading high; one reading ~ +0.2 and the other reading ~ +0.15. I tested again last night and my dKH was up to 12 again after being at 8 dKH last Sunday. I took the CA reactor offline to slowly drop the dKH. I hope this remedies the situation, having a bad reefing week.:sad2:

Wesley, You're probably right. I'm going to recheck them a week out to see if they hold their calibration. If not they'll be replaced.

Thanks Mark and Kenny. It just sucks to see some of the corals just die off. I'm hoping that I found the problem, sent a sample to AWT to see if they find something.

Sorry to hear about the mishap. I have never trust probes. Alk shifts can be hard on SPS, I'm sure that what happen.
