Deep Down Florida 600 Gallon In-Wall Build

Thank you I will reach out when I am ready.
vp racing, they are in fort laud. product is called M1 (pure methanol) I think they sell 5 gal for $55.

It's WAY more than you need! You should immediately cut it to 50% with RO water. Methanol is VERY flammable and will also degrade certain plastics. Matt, Marvin and I dose it at 50%, seems to be ok with tubing at that concentration. It becomes completely nonflammable at about 25% if you are concerned. ;)

I'm down to about 1.5gal of the 50%methanol mix, so I will share some of the cost if you buy the 5gal bucket. Alternately, you are welcome to stop by and get some of mine to get started.

What are your nitrates at? I can help you with dosing when you are ready. Just PM or text me.

Nice reactor Bill.

I think you'll be very happy with the denitrator. My tanks at undetectable levels for nitrate now and that's with me over feeding my fish.

I hit a few bumps along the way with setting it up. But Dr. T was able to get me back on track.

Pardon all my critiques; the pictures really look GREAT. I've never seen one so neat and tidy before

Some observations:
1. The drain side exit pipe(right side of pic) should probably be bigger. From the pic it looks like the same size as your input pipe. Have you tested it to make sure it can handle a flushing?

2. You may want to put something to prevent the exit from being blocked when the biomass starts to build up on the surface. (an elbow down might be enough)

3. Make sure the drain line is dumping near your skimmer intake. You want the skimmer to eat up most of the excess bacteria during a flush

4. The end product of your reaction chamber is Nitrogen gas, make sure the lid is not too tight so it stops the gassing off of N2.

5. Have you tested your tank for nitrates? Dont set the methanol denitrator up until you have completed cycling and are producing nitrates.

No problem on the critique.
I welcome all suggestions.
1. Yes I have tested the drain to ensure it will keep up during flushing. If you look at the first picture, there is a valve that I used to regulate the flow.
2. Good Idea
3. Hmmm this is interesting. I have the dirty worter coming from the skimmer area and the return near the return pump. I will have to think about this one.
4. There is no clamps setting the lid in place. Is that what you mean by not so tight?
5. Yes I have tested and do have detecable nitrates. Nitrates are not as high as I thought but still present. PO4 also

It is been a long time since I last posted any updates. Since my last posting I changed a few things. I am now using Lanthanum chloride in my chamber which has brought my phosphate down to manageable levels. I fully expect my phosphates to be close to zero in the upcoming weeks. Nitrates are also hitting an all time low and I'm happy with the way my chamber is responding to my system.
More recently I decided to change out my lights. I am now using eight Kessil 360 EW on my aquarium. I built a rack for them to attach to for phase 1. In phase 2 will be adding a motor to lift the lights all the way to the ceiling for when I work on the tank. Pictures of that to come.

Looks a lot less blue in person.

Scape looks sooooooo much better now! Interesting choice of lights. What do you plan on stocking? I bet the shimmer is ridiculous!
