Deeznutz Hd 120 Shallow rimless (Pics)

Even if I did they wouldn't come out as good as yours plus I won't derail your thread littering it with my pics. Lol. Great job on the play scape.

Looking good.

I was looking at Mark III 5d today with a macro lens - ouch! That's all I am going to say :)

Yeah, ouch is right. Mk2 is just as capable, but the mk3 is better for photographing kids due to the faster auto focus and low light capabilities. I want to upgrade now. lol.

So I got a few things done this weekend

I removed the plugs, patched the wall, sanded and ready for paint.:)

Update time, things are getting exciting!!!

Ok guys, sorry for the last set of out of focus pics. I thought it would be funny.:D

I went to a J&J last night and when I came home @ 3am I found myself staring at it for a half hour lol Man do I love the way this tank looks. Just at home in this space. I really had doubts about the size and was regretting not going a tad larger. But the way everything looks, it seems to fit in quite nicely without overwhelming anything else in the house. I believe the proportions to the house are next to perfect.

OK, enough of my rambling. On to the pics!

Here you can see the stand is quite level. I might shimmy it a bit, but I'm happy so far. Within the lines is usually good enough right?

Are you intending to paint the styro under the tank?

You've put so much attention to detail into this build and everything looks phenomenal ... you gotta get rid of that pink strip lol

Thanks man, but I've decided to live with the pink foam exposed. It serves a purpose and I want people to know I did use pink foam to help support the tank. The pink foam screams " I know what I'm doing" to on lookers. lol

On a serious note, the bottom of the tank will be trimmed. I'm not sure with what, but I have a few ideas in mind.

The first idea is to have the 3" ledge surrounding the tank covered with white Quartz. The same colour as our kitchen counters.

The second idea is to have a 2" stainless steel strip surround the bottom of the tank like the common black plastic trim, except in Stainless.

What do you think about those ideas? Any suggestions?

I am interested in learning how you are going to facilitate a clean lighting system.

Are you going to run power up to the lights though the wall? Surface mount and paint the same colour as the walls to allow easier access? Those cables at eye level are mighty unsightly and challenging to hide given the need for access.

White will be pretty awesome. Stainless probably less so. I think white will be better - allows you to focus on the tank.
