I noticed this fish on Divers Den and tried to do a little research, but couldn't locate anything. Anyone have experience or knowledge of it?

Aberrant Blue Eye Mimic Lemonpeel Tang (Acanthurus pyroferus)

The photo they had online was:

Very nice. Is that a juvenile? If so, I wonder what the adult coloration will be like.

I believe it is juvenile based upon its current size (2"). I am curious about adult coloration as well. That was one reason I posted in case someone has owned one in the past. I check DD often and had never come across it before.

All Acanthurus pyroferus turn out the same in the end: that mottled brown color, with orange around the eye and assorted colors in the fins.

My friend pick up a mimic tang hybrid from vivid aquarium too

Here is a picture of an adult mimic tang. Nice shape. They lose the bright yellow as adult (usually in about 6 months or less). The size is about 6 - 7 inches. Very hardy and nice non agressive fish. I had him with smaller fish with no problem. Put the larger angel in the tank still no problem. Both are gone now. Hoping the link will work. First time to post and put a photo on this site.

I've had a mimic for a couple of years. Good fish, a little shy at first. Like to hide under ledges so be sure to give them some. Of course the usual tang diet. Doesn't seem to need near the swimming space of a lot of tangs. Usually moves from overhang to overhang save for feeding time. Gets along fine with my four other tangs.
