DIY LEDs with Radion Pro G2 pucks?

im looking for radion g2 pro pucks if anyone has upgraded to g3 pucks I will buy your old pro pucks just putting my feelers out there to see if anyone has any for sale will also purchase g3 pucks if you have upgraded to the pro looking to upgrade my g2s without having to spend an arm and leg

There's a set on eBay right now

Does anyone have any data on setting the Radion pucks for specific colors? For example if I wanted to set it for 20k color what percentage are each of the channels? I know they will vary depending on the brightness but if I know the levels at one output I can figure out the rest of it. Maybe there is a thread with all of this info in it already that I just haven't found? Any help appreciated. Krazie :jester:

I believe that if I was to set the K slider to 20k in ecosmartlive, it will move the individual channel sliders to the corresponding positions to create the 20k or whatever color chosen. I'm assuming you don't have the ability to do this. Would you like me to try it with my lights and post pics of my results? Is it just the 20k setting you're looking for?

DIY LEDs with Radion Pro G2 pucks?

Got my pucks in and started building last night! :)

Looks sweet! It looks like they're just regular G2s, correct? I tried to zoom in n see, No UV or Amber in the center?

I forget who was mentioning it previously, but if they're just G2s, have you considered adding the 5 missing LEDs to each puck?

Again, build looks good! I'm really interested to see this come together.

They are G3 pucks (not Pro). They have the UV but not the single yellow or single azure(?) in the center. So only 2 missing LEDs and they are not colors I will miss at all.

I have my controller board that O2 helped me make to drive them and the whole thing fits on the heatsync. two small cables is all that runs to each light.

I started my build yesterday, I'm putting it into a biocube 29. I have 2 gen3 pucks, mounted to the hanging kit(the one with the rimless fan) from corallux, and I'm using a meanwell with 4 700's and 2 1000's(for blue and white), and a storm x controller. For my PSU I used a DM1-3613 (36v 13a). and to wire everything nicely I put my driver into a watertight box from Home Depot, and have all of my power, pwm inputs from my storm going through a rubber grommet I put on the side. and as for the LED outs, I decided to pin them into Cat 5 jacks, then I ran a Cat5e cable to the top of my tank, and then from there I put the Radion Pigtail I got from a group buy into another jack, so it sort of makes my tank lid and my driver box modular, because I can just unplug the cat5 cables and do what I please. I am also running my temp probe and my fan controls through another cat5 jack and cable, so it makes for a relatively clean looking wire set up.

Two 72 watt pucks over a 29? Good lord that is a ton of light you will be running it at 3-6% to keep from burning everything. One puck (equivalent to the XR15W) is plenty for that tank.

Krazie,....did you get you fixture done? I wanted to see it with the splash guard...Thanks

Any par readings at your sandbed?

I got them done. They have been running for a week now. I'll see if I can get a couple of pics posted in just a few minutes. They turned out awesome. No PAR readings (don't have a meter) I started out with a Radion graph that seamed to be popular. I had to turn them down after the first day. They were WAAAAYY too bright.

Here is my current Lighting schedule (I'm sure it will change). The Orange highlighted line is the Royal Blue and UV channels. The original graph had the everything running at about 15-19% higher max levels so I had to turn them down. I have a few test frags in the tank to see how things do under these lights running this schedule.

Wow...your fixture is really cool! Is there a splash guard that I can't see in the pic. I think some pages back you were highly recommending them. The reason I ask about par is my tank is 42" deep. I have rockwork up to 24+- tall and want to end up with a mixed reef so I would like to grow some nice SPS's higher and LPS's lower as the par drops off,...anyhow thats the plan. Are your pucks the pro...if not are you adding a couple leds to them...I forgot which ones you bought. I have some O2 boards and parts that are the A6211 design that have been collecting dust for quite sometime now :lmao: I would like to put them to work.
Anyhow thanks for the input.---Rick
