Question:
I used 3/4 birch ply only secured with pocket screws and wood glue for my stand no 2x4's. I have seen it done on here before. Was this a bad idea?
Filled and sanded everything today and threw on its first coat of primer.

I am still not sure about the final paint. I either want it all black or two tone, one of which is black...lol. I think it would look good with the black silicon, black background, and black light. I could do the piano black finish, but it is incredibly time consuming.

This thread is for people that do not have the skills to make a stand out of ply.

RocketEngineer I need your advice....
I need to build a stand for a 300g tank (or 289) and I wanted to know what modifications to your design do I need to make in order for it to be strong enough?
The tank size is 96"L x 29"h x 24W.
From floor to bottom of tank will be 51"
Thanks for your help. I was looking to start this on the weekend.
Going to give it a few more coats but I am happy with the results.
