Dreams come true (1 y.o. aqua, lots of photo)

Just watched both videos again. In the second video the LPS had their feeding tentacles out. What do you feed for them to react like that?

These are very long tentacles of the corals release at night. What would it take for the video, I had to turn on the light.

I can `t feed a lot, there is still SPS. I feed the fish twice a day, morning dry food, frozen brine shrimp in the evening, Cyclops, but I did wash out with water. But once a week does not wash out, and all my LPS love it. Very rarely, once a month, I add food for corals, different

Everything is looking wonderful in your aquarium... except that poor hepatus tang. Do you know what is wrong with it?

Dave.M

Hepatus live 5 years. One or two years, it looks like this. He often breaks the corals and sleeps between branches, always thought that he hurt himself.

Perhaps the hepatus tang should stay in a separate quarantine aquarium for a couple of months to see if it heals. Just a suggestion.

Thanks ! But I'm afraid this is not possible, I can not catch him. Such a body is only for him, and for more than a year.

Thanks for sharing, this an amazingly clean, colorful, diverse and healthy tank.

Can you educate us on your maintenance routines? (How often do you do water changes, skimmer cleanings, vacuum the sand, etc?)

And is there anything that you would point to that enables you to have so much success?

Thanks again for sharing with us.

I have one that looks similar, maybe not quite as bad but close. He has been removed and I've tried treating a couple different times and nothing has ever helped reverse it. It seemed to stop when I upgraded my tank and most of my equipment. I had a yellow tang years ago with the same issue. The yellow tang went to another tank and the HLLE stopped (never reversed, the damage was done) and as far as I know he is still doing OK to this day, just ugly. My best guess for the cause was stray voltage but I don't have any way of proving it. Since upgrading I now run a grounding probe (never did before), and the problem seems to have stopped but the poor hepatus still looks pretty bad. I have a pretty strict QT regiment, feed a bunch, he gets plenty of algae, full blown SPS tank with great water quality, lots of healthy other fish and yet I still could never never get the HLLE to reverse. It's a bad situation and you feel awful for the fish but don't know what to do. Taka, Im curious, does your tank have a grounding probe? I noticed the yellow tang has some receding fin and tail, do you think it's related to what is effecting the blue tang? Regardless it's obvious that you take good care of your animals and you have a beautiful tank. Just wanted to share and tell you I feel your pain with the blue tang. Very nice tank, your SPS look outstanding.
