Very amazing tank you have going on here. True inspiration.

It might have been mentioned but Im wondering why you decided to go with VHO instead if T5? I have a icecap 660 and for my new 180 I was planning to go with T5 but now you have me wondering if I should just stick to VHO? Did I miss something?

Thanks for making such a well illustrated tank build!

Green Thumb. Thanks for your appreciation.

The reason I choose VHO because I want more watts to make my tank looks brighter. That's it.

Thank you. What spectrum do you plan on running the VHO tubes? Mostly actinic I presume? So VHO are brighter than T5?! Lately everybody is going bananas over T5? Please help me understand this better.

How long are those cables from ballast to bulb? Any issues running the bulbs that far from the ballasts? I thought there were limitations???

Outstanding build! Keep it up!!!

VHO has more watts than HO(T5).
For example, same length 48"
HO = 54 W
VHO = 110 W

I will use Aquasun from URI.
4 x 60" and 6 x 48"

Thanks.
From bulb to ballast, it is about 3-4 meters long. Should be no problem.

Looks great but ballasts is in a small space. Are you sure two fans will be enough to keep it cool?

Thanks.
That is what I concern too.
I am thinking of taking the front panel out or drill it for better ventilation.

WOW! Your chilling system is incredible! 4HP!

Does anyone around here know if Sanjay or anyone else has looked at VHO vs T5 Par values?

Your planning is spectacular!
