Would you please detail your light mover a little bit? I'm planning something similar for a future build.

Details of light mover is on page 6 and 7.
If there is anything else I can help, please let me know.

I was looking for the manufacturer but didn't see it.

It is custom-made in Thailand.
The company's name is Inlay66.

I am not superstitious.
But this should be a good sign.
Today elephant coming in front of my house, first time in 42 years old.
Normally they always show up in the public place.

Great progress, and I love the eye for detail even in this very large project.

I think the elephant was trying to take a bath in your tank ;)

How long are those cables from ballast to bulb? Any issues running the bulbs that far from the ballasts? I thought there were limitations???

Outstanding build! Keep it up!!!

Hi,

This is the reply I got from Icecap's owner:

Hi Chris,

It's me. Chingchai.
Hope you remember me.
I have one question to ask:
Is there any problem or defect if I install Icecap ballast around 3-4 meters
away from the bulbs?

Please advise.

Thanks and regards,

I have a question what is longest cable can run? One good thing cable have time cool off.
I seen a movie about elephant is sign of good or bad luck. Hey it just a movie.

This article by Dana Riddle has a comment about T5 vs T12, and he is testing further to really see the difference. It still comes down to reflectors though to get all the PAR from the lamp to the tank.
I am very curious as well. UVL actinic VHOs on IC660s have always been the best, IMO.

Chingchai, Amazing progress. I like how there is refrigerant gauges hard plumbed in the system. A very good tool to have.

Although they produce light intensity only slightly greater than a standard 15-watt T12 lamp, their length and small diameters (thus allowing for more tubes per given area) make them attractive for narrow and/or shallow aquaria

This has always been the best argument for T5 lamps. If you have the space, T12VHOs are still awesome:)

H20ENG. Thanks a lot for the article.
But Dana only test T5 HO. No T12VHO to compare. Right?

15W NO T12 PAR shows about 58, in only 18"
39W HO T5 Par shows about 78, in 36"
Both were actinic white lamps. Not exactly apples to apples (48"to 48"), but a curious finding nontheless. I'd like to hear PaulEriks take on this...

Although the lamp wattage is almost doubled, the T5 lamp produces roughly 25% more maximum light than a 15w T12 lamp. However, the T5 lamp's length is about twice that of this particular T12 lamp.

It will be VERY interesting to see the results of the testing.

Yes, why not apples to apples?

I really want to see the results as well.
Thanks again.
