dtum's Pragmatic Reef - 180 Gallons of Adventure

subscribed to thread this is a beautiful tank dtum. i have to ask will you upgrade again? also like the frags in the sump looks nice

Thanks. If anything I may "downgrade" at some point - maybe to a 90 gallon of just high end pieces... stick with this for a few years and then go large (350+ gallons). But that's just dreaming for now :)

As usual, you tank is simply stunning. If you don't mind, does the LiterMeter take up a lot of space to operate? And, if its not too much to ask, can you attach a photo of how yours is set up? Thank you.

Here's the latest FTS

Looking awesome! Whats your light schedule? Also your T5 combo?

My T5 as of 2 days ago:

Blue+ KZ NG KZ S KZ NG KZ NG Blue+ KZ NG Blue+

And I must say that this time I think I got it - this is the color I was looking for.
I also have 2 Tech Reefbrites attached to the fixture that provide LED goodness.

Right now Reefbrites are on for 14 hours, +2 T5 for 12 hours and +6 more for about 3 hours. Still not happy with the light schedule. Some corals appear to get too much light and some are asking for more.

It appears that when all 8 lights are on can be shocking to some of the SPS in my tank (Forest Fire Monti Digitata is a good example), so I have been limiting this high period of lighting to only up to 4 hours. But many SPS keepers run the full light for 6 hours, I have no idea how corals tolerate that.

Lately I've been raising my fixture way high - it used to be 8'' off the water, now it is closer to 14''.

Very nice. Some corals take longer to settle in especially if you've recently changed the tubes. Give them time and don't mess with the intensity too much. Better to set the fixture height and work with the photo period. You may end up moving a couple if they continue to be unhappy.

Went by last night (and got some wonderful frags :), what a spectacular tank both for setup, coral and inhabitants.

Pleasure to see !!

Another video update for your viewing pleasure. Now sporting a custom made canopy.

The canopy is nice, like how it comes detached... that said, your impressive SPS colonies and many beautiful fish are even better :) That trigger is sweet!

Staring at that tank takes some sting out of the Jays' 0-2 start to the ALCS (some, not all). Brutal.

Fantastic tank! I really like how that canopy comes apart too. When I build a new one for my tank I will do something like that. I really hate how mine opens up and shines the light directly in your eyes.
