You da man...you got real good good with that camera real fast.A bit of cropping and in a couple a touch of exposure/sharpening adjustment. Straight out of the camera colour (no changes in saturation or tone). Canon 7D, 30 mm Sigma 1.4.
Ya my scape is decent but it's really maximized for coral placement...I.refer to it as stadium seating. Looking at my tank its pretty rammed with corals, but still some room for growth. Its Sunday afternoon. I just had a nice meal. Sitting here with a nice piece of chololate cake. And SPS eye candy. It cant get better than this.
Many thanks to the photographer and to Darryl for keeping an amazing tank.
There are those tanks that have a minimalistic approach to the rockwork and scaping, and a few choice corals placed here and there. Thats all nice.
But to see photos such as these where corals colours are a plenty; with contrasting colour behind, in front, to the left and right of the subject coral is just what the eye needs to see.
This is my kind of dream SPS tank. Excellent work Darryl.
Never AEFW thank god...but red bugs a few times for sure and monti eating nudi way back.Once again, beautiful tank. Have you ever had to do battle with sps pests? aefw or red bugs? If so, how did you beat them?
I'm with Myzislow on this one.. This is a beautiful piece!:hammer: Love the growth form of the plana's!
That looks like a Desalwii to me?. I have one just like it. It forms a tighter growth pattern than the plana.
I also have a plana, but it tends to take on a white body with blue/ purple tips, with a flatter more sparse table form.

IO.....from day 1. I'm cheap unless I have to shell out....so in the case of IO, it seems to do the job and is a good value. What salt do you use?
Agreed about the desalwii...I've always called that coral a desalwii...although I have wondered but I think that desalwii are a little thicker and more polyp'ie than plana. Anyway plana and desalwii are close cousins for sure. That looks like a Desalwii to me?. I have one just like it. It forms a tighter growth pattern than the plana.

I love that Sarmentosa.
Awesome colours you have. About right for TOTM!.
