Just wanted to let you know I am still tagging along and learning so much from your beautiful and wonderfully planned out build. Bet you can't wait to get your DT in place. Cheers jr

Ed! nice man! Very well planned! Your tank is going to be awesome! Its starting look like it was a good idea to sell your 295 (even know it was awesome)

Off the drawing board, into a soft drawing board, and now the real deal. Looking beautiful awesome. One question no black marble look?

Lighted perimeter?! Let's hear more about that now.

So that cabinetry fits within the metal stand, and that is why those legs don't have to be super strong, correct?

That's pretty darn neat, and like you said, completed quickly.

Wow, that is absolutely beautiful. And FAST....considering I had to wait for 17 weeks for my tank (still bitter about that)....I think there may be some business opportunities manufacturing high-end aquarium stands in China. ;)

Thanks mcliffy2 for your comments...

As for business opportunities, there sure is... the manufacturer here move FAST - guess labour shortage is not an issue here... :D

Thanks for your kind words SuperR. If I knew I could come back so soon, I might not start this tank as it's a lot lot lot lot of work to set-up a new tank and very time consuming....!! :eek2:

I'm now trying to get it up and running soonest possible so I can start adding in corals and fishes, which is my fav part but guess even at super speed, I will still need at least 2 weeks before I see water, I think?? :rolleye1:

Nope - no black marble for me.... :p

PROBLEMS!!

PROBLEMS!!

Nothing major but if you look at the pictures carefully, the top layer of plywood (10mm thickness) is not flush and have warp slightly as it’s yet to be secure to the based plywood (25mm thickness)….

Well, nothing a couple of screws can’t fix along the sides….

I also seal the joins between the artificial marble and plywood so that if there is spills, hopefully it won’t sip under the based wood and metal stand.….
