It all adds up Ed. But it looks like you are off to a good start! Its probably already been posted here on your thread. But How long till you get the display tank and who is the builder.

I am going to use a OM 4 way on my rimless 245 gallon tank when I get the build started in the near future. I have the tank and the equipment sitting here for like 5 months! Just waiting too move too my new place. Also using a 4 way on Tim's build that I am doing here on RC.

I am in Toronto not too far from OceansMotions. I visited Paul at his shop too pick up a few 4 ways a few weeks back and he built one for me from scratch. He is also working on some interesting projects that everyone will soon see

Display tank should be another 10 - 14 days to delivery date....BUT my stand should be here this week (I hope)

So great that you're able to visit Paul at his shop as I got tons of questions about the type of Omni Flex Nozzles size to used (as over here we go on metric measurements), difference between Revolutions and Omni Flex (advantage/ disadvantage) and of course all the cool plumbing type Paul can custom make for you.

So...spill the beans man....is the new 'project' he is working on something to do with his avatar?? :p

Been checking on your 'the other' thread for Tim and going great, I must say

Ed, I think everyone is interested too see what your going to do with your new reef island.

I have seen a few of these OM 4 ways in action now and they are impressive! I like the idea of no power cords coming out and over the top of rimless tanks. If you have any questions or need any help with regards to OceansMotions, just let me know. I have to go there next week to pick up omni flex nozzels and a few other things.

From what I understand the Revolutions work better closer to the surface of the water. They will still work deeper in the tank though. The Omni Flex nozzels are really slick! And they are not an eye sore in the tank. And you direct them anywhere you want with ease!

As far as what he is working on, I should let him tell you guys...

And for Tim's build, its coming along nicely! Just about finished the fish room and tank is set to be picked up at Aquarium Obsessed on April, 11. (Its only like a 45 min drive for us)

Thanks for the advice on Revolutions. At least this narrow down my choice to Omni Dual Nozzle or simply order the 2 Section Nozzle for each output??

Hmmmm I love choices... :rolleye1:

Are you using 1" bulkheads for your 4 closed loop returns too tank? And 1.5" intake? If so go for the Omni...It will fit perfect.

MY COLLECTION OF LIVE ROCKS

MY COLLECTION OF LIVE ROCKS

Last few weeks went around the LFS to source for suitable rocks and woods I can use for my new tank…. not an easy task but the good thing is I get to cherry pick from most LFS here (as most of them know me) so that helps.

Hard to know what type/size I really need at this moment so I order a little extra and also got myself a mix of different sizes LR from deep and shallow water-bed.

Anyway, this is what I got so far, about 60kg ….

I’m a little disappointed that I couldn’t find any nice Tonga branches (most of them are too small for any real use) but I still got some leftover dry based rocks from my previous set-up, which I will see if I need to use some of it…

I’m not planning to cook the rocks at this moment as I’m hoping a ULNS can take care of unsightly algae growth. (Hopefully this will not come back and hunt me one day) :rolleye1:

So, I simply give them all a good cleaning and started curing them in SW.

Great build so far!

LOL Ed it says made in China and you imported it from SoCal

I am sure it was the only place you could get those particular ones, but I still thought it was funny.

cook the rock ed it looks kinds dirty. Even if you only cookfor 2 weeks you can get lots of organics out. It will take months to reach ULNS otherwise...

Hi Ed,

I have the same OM set up running on a ATB 75000l/hr pump. The pumps are dead quite. I was so impressed with the pump I ordered a 6000l/hr to run my return. I have a eheim at the moment and when I hooked it up to my manifold it does not have enough to run it all. I'm extremly happy with this pump, I have had it running for approx 3 months and still can not here it at all. Defently recomend this pump

Awesome to see you back Ed. I just found the thread. I vote for the floating canopy. I love the light rack by the way. Looking forward to seeing more.

Well, started a mini cooking for em by swashing and changing SW every 2 days and they are kept in the dark. Looks a lot cleaner now, I must say but will be about 2 weeks more before I used em anyway so hopefully that's enough!!

Thanks Chippy...yeah, Victor put me in touch with their guys in Europe and I'm currently waiting for prices. I'm looking at their 11000 l/h model at this moment but not sure if that's too much for the OM to handle??

Hi Andy - and welcome back to my new thread :D Good to have you on board!!

+3 for the floating canopy. Seem I'm leaning to wards that at this moment and now working out the logistic how to get this done with minimum modification to my light rack, which is basically done :eek2:

Ed, I will SHOW you my light rack/floating canopy once it finished on Sunday. My Canopy actually 24" mounted on the heavy duty Barn rail system (Thanks Cward). I can slide my light rack side to side for bulb change or working on the tank. Sorry no drawing for me. I have no computer skill what so ever :D
