Wow! The stand looks great. This is coming together fast.

Thanks Brian - coming along at hyper speed.

My hotel engineers are all in my apartment and my hotel is currently on a stand still lol

Looks like you have your priorities straight!

Ed- One of the better builds on R.C.! What is your new target date for getting this thing wet?

Wow, you are really moving! I have been obsessing over my tank for literally months and have not yet pulled the trigger. Lol. You are definitely a huge motivator! Everything looks great. Are you going to have any kind of enclosed canopy for the lights or are you going to rock the industrial look? (I like it either way:))

From no tank to new tank in 60 seconds (or so it seems)...I'm impressed how fast this has gone from concept to reality....and with perfect execution to boot.

Edreef, leonardo, ching, brickey. That light rack and this tank lands you in a very elite club of aesthetic master reefers.

I like everything about this build. Great job Ed

That light rack came out great. Any guesses how much it weighs with everything on it as it is? Did you plug it in?

Well, let' see how close you and Will is in the next updates....

Well we were sorta close, but no cigar.........:o

Jim

Ed Why don't you use a little more aluminum or plastic to box in the sides of your light frame and have it painted red to match the stand. Then for the center part use the same stuff they used at the base of your cabinets. This way the canopy will have a finished look, but still open on top for air circulation.

Helps when you got over 30 engineers under your care :D

As for the top, well, seem the vote counts are in, I will eventually enclose it!! I do like the industrial look (which was the original planned) but somehow that has change :D :p

Now I will need to find what's the best way to enclose the top...

Thanks Nick for putting me int he same league with those maters - designing and building em' tanks is the easy part. Keeping corals healthy is the hard part :mad2: which I've still a looooong way to learn from you guys!!

Not plug in yet as I still got some wiring to complete but estimated weight now should be around 30-40Ibs.

I still need to think of the suitable materials to used for the canopy top. Will need to spray paint some plastic and other materials to see the desire effect before deciding which will be best in terms of overall finished look, weight.... :rolleye1:

Anyway, will be trying to get the tank running first before moving onto my canopy top :D
