Thanks chewieee - you're making me blush now :worried2: BUT will do my best to keep this thread as entertaining as the last :lol2:

There are a couple of new ideas in this thread so stick around

Ed,

Try a vinegar soak to clean the probes and a medium bristle tooth brush, should come right off.

This tank build will have TOTM written all over it. Good luck and have fun.

Clint

Ed I enjoyed your last build and am looking forward to this one. Great looking plans. I'm tagging along as well.

Thanks Clint - I will try that. Can't remember but i seem to recall somewhere that GHL probes are not advisable to do vinegar soak?? I could be wrong thou!! :eek2:

As for TOTM, not too sure as shallow tanks never get nominated!! Besides, there are lot's of great shallow tanks around here in RC but thank you anyway for thinking so.... :p

Hey guys....just wanted to share!!

For those who is not aware, there is a thread in the DYI forum called Free Sketchup Renderings *inquire within* started by WZHANG and I posted my ugly tank drawings there and this is what WZHANG came out with...

StandRenderingDrawing.jpg

and he also gave me another option for design...

And this is what uncleof6 did for my tank...

Amazing how lifelike the rendering drawings are??

Those guys are great and really a BIG HELP to people like me who's simply hopeless in Google Sketchup....

MY TANK IS ALIVE.......

:p

Gorgeous, Ed! I absolute love the clean, modern lines. The canopy design will be perfect for the LumenBrights.

BTW: great story about your dealings with the "tank maker".:lmao: :lmao: :lmao:

I really like that second rendering, with the floating reef. You still have that rimless look, but dont have to worry about seeing all of the lighting equipment. Those guys sure have some skills.

Ed this build is looking wonderful. Props to WZHANG for what IMO are amazing looking designs. I am loving both of those 2 designs I would hate to have and pick between the 2!!

Coming from you Tom, I'm honored....like getting TOTM twice... :D Agree the canopy design looks great for the LB but only problem is to completely have the LB hidden, it will have to be thicker than that and I'm not sure if by doing so the top will look too heavy...if you know what I mean??

Originally I never even think of doing a floating canopy but now this has make me rethink my plans....

I know what you mean.... I thought I had it all figure out until I saw WZhang rendering and now I'm all confuse...

Well, back to the drawing board, I guess :rolleye1:

Hi Ed,

Here is another idea perhaps. Just throwing this out there.

untitled317.jpg

Oh my god.....another beautiful rendering??? NOW you're really making it difficult for me to choose :D

Thanks WZHANG - once I have a cabinet maker and the final dimension, hope you won't mind to do me a final rendering of the final cabinet??

Hope to have something by next week, I hope
