I'd say get both of the gobies. If they are going to nibble on the polyps you can still get them out before the corals have had a chance to lay a base against your live rock. I really would like to see the blue morph as I too have not seen one.

Wallet on hand - will do sir :D

Will try to go there this weekend and grab them. Do they need to be quarantine btw as I hear they have a protecting coat in them (similar to a dragonet) and should do well without quarantine??

Cant wait to see the goodies your picking up from your friends tank! More inspiration from your tank for me ed! I love your stand. So im tryin to think of an interesting way to skin my stand and hood now. Not really sure, but im thinking black and red.

Black/ Red always look good. Another good combination will be white/red combi (similar to RD pumps/ skimmer) as it will give it the clean look and make your room look more spacious than it really is.... :D

Thanks arctictwist - true it's a hit or miss. Sort of like putting in any angel fishes I guess :p

Will set up a small quarantine tank for them and see if I can get them eating brine shrimps before deciding to put em in or not.

I've ask the LFS to hold on for me so will pick em up this weekend

Wish me luck :mixed:

Oooh and the threadfins, yeah they are way cooool and will defiantly look great schooling in this shallow wide tank but the problem is I can't get them here...!! I've been looking for years already but still no luck!!

Guess they are just not popular here.....any online shop willing to shipped em in for me?? :rolleye1:

Ed, your moving fast bro :D. I like the retrofit ideas. I already remove all the ATI and getting ready to put up the Retro 2 bulbs on each side with 4 VHO in the middle :D

Thanks Steve - you're not exactly slow yourself as I know you got tons of fishes/ corals already stock and ready to ship with the snap of your finger :D

Yeah retro fitting the T5 IMO is the best as it give us the flexibility. Of course then we have to make a beautiful canopy top to hide all those 'industrial look'

I wonder why they (wife) don't like those industrial look as I don't mind) :rolleye1:

 my wife nagging about my bare stand all the time. Thanks god my guy coming over this weekend to build the skeleton for the stand and the acrylic will go up as well.

Can't wait to see how you skin the stand :D

Mine is in the middle of the hall so you can imagine the pressure is much greater to get the 'industrial look' out of sight :p

Good luck with em! Itd be cool if you can get them to leave your sps alone!Looks like liveaquaria just got them in...but it says they dont ship to other countries. Im not really sure who would. Are there any companies like them based in china?

No unfortunately so I guess I will keep looking :p Hopefully one day this fish will be more popular here in China and this will encourage the LFS to bring them in. I was told at this moment, if they want to bring this in, it will be a min order of 1,000 fishes. Guess that's a little too many for my tank :D

nah, thats only like 5.2 inches of fish per gallon....you could def pull it off! Sry man, hopefully you can get em at some point!

If I line them up like sardines.... :D

Another fish that has caught my attention is Ptereleotris evides (Scissortail Dartfish) and apparently they school too so will be quite cool. This I've seen around so could maybe get like 7-9 of those !!

Another choice would be a Serranus tortugarum (Chalk Bass) as I hear they school too but not as easily available as Ptereleotris evides

:D

I would vote for the scissortails!

Can you imagine 7-9 of those flying gracefully through the water :D

Mmmmm.... i'm liking it a lot !!

That sounds pretty good. Did you get over to pick up your stuff from your friends tank yet?

Not yet - still at work but will do so tonight after dinner.... I know, I'm excited as well as he has been keeping them 'fresh for me in his tank

The scissor tail dartfish are cool. I love the orange stripped ones. How are you going to keep fish from heading to the threaded ocean (carpet surfacing)? Your build is moving along nicely. Cant wait to see it in a few more months!!

Hi Josh,

From my experience, some moonlight helps during the night time to reduce this. Ever since I used this moonlight concept I've never have a carper surfer but then again I never have such a shallow reef as well :eek2:
