... and get some frags? :lol2:

What do you think my visit is all about??

"Hi.....how's the tank doing" clippers behind my back "I see the corals has grown quite a bit"

snip...snip...

"Nice seeing you....bye bye"

:D

Your tank is beautiful. I've been subscribed for a while. I just haven't said anything. ;) I was wondering if you have seen any type of activity with that blue coral? The one that is possibly just a skeleton? Love your tank. =)

Hi Reefer08

Well a lot will depends on live stock in your tank as CV is a food for SPS. It also contain some elements which if not careful can cause your reef to be high nutriant, especially for a new tank.

As I don't have that many corals in the tank yet so best to take things slow.

As for Coral Snow, it contains also Amino Acid and Vitalizer. So if you are dosing CS at 2ml for such a small tank, you should reduce on your AAHC and CV dosing or you will start to see a raise in Cyano bacteria...

Also check your Ca, Mg, dKH reading as there's been report of raise in those level with overdosing of Coral Snow as it contains among others a natural Calcium-Magnesium Carbonate mix.

Your dosage of Xtra seems fine....

I don't know about your amount of LS in your tank so cannot comment much on your dosing but most importantly how's your corals doing?? Are the PE all fully extended, color dark or light and do you get any Red slime algae?? How long have you been dosing??

I pump my reactor twice daily (morning before work/ night before sleep) Best time to pump this is actually when the lights are off as that's when all the PE are out :p

Hope that helps.....

Thanks Ed, your info helped out. Ill lower my dosing for now until im done with the first 2 week phase. Im only on my 9th day of dosing.

Im surprised you didn't go all T5's on this project. I thought all the zeo heads were T5 only

Sweet corals Ed, I especially like the maze brain coral... Very nice!
:)

Thanks FadeToGrey - yeah I think we need to have some fungia and maze out in the open to give it the more natural look amongst the acros and Monties... .:p

Thanks MarineGirl - glad you enjoy the ride so far and WELCOME to my build thread :D

No activity yet with the mystery coral and debate is still out there whether it's alive or not.....but I could have swear I saw some 'feathers' last night while cleaning the tank down??

Jeremy, if you're ready this.... :p

Yeah I think I saw your post in the Zeo forum (at least I think it's you as the specs is the same)

Good call on reducing the dosage or you will curse yourself with cyano at a month or two stage....!! These things take patience and it does not produce miracle results and it's not a short cut to great looking reef tank. Those beautiful reef tanks you see around have been in place for over 2-3 years

As for T5, well not all zeoheads uses T5.....as for me, I would like to use T5 but that will mean my lights to be much lower to the edge of the tank and I will have problems with my island set-up

:D

Well, who knows, if there is enough cubes, shallow tanks around, the moderators might just split into different forums for each but at this moment doubt it's going to happen as there is only a few shallow reefer around and not enough to even split a thread :D

Hmmmm new frag???? don't give me ideas...the weekend is around the corner. Since Mother's Day is around the corner, maybe I will buy my wife some frags...

I love that vacuum, I have yet to try it on a sand bed though! Will be great for keeping your sump clean too.

So true..... you know, too many people ignore the importance of keeping the sump clean (me included in my previous tank) and with this tank, I want to try to keep it as clean as possible and this vacuum will surely makes my task easier
