Cool... going to see if it's a fast or slow grower before deciding of I should frag one into 4 pieces or simply dry it and eventually used it as a based for a crazy encrusting looking monti??

WATER PARAMETER UDPATES…..

WATER PARAMETER UDPATES…..

Now that my tank has completed its cycle, I will be doing a weekly water param testing for the initial 4 weeks and if all goes well, I will reduce it to every two week.


Did a 10% weekly WC and check my water params as below:

• Temperature â€"œ 25.3 degree C (light off)
• Salinity Gravity â€"œ 35ppt (Calibrated refractometer - 53ms Pinpoint Solution)
• NO3 â€"œ 0.2 (Salifert Test kit â€"œ drop from last week 2)
• PO4 â€"œ 0.25 (D&D Test kit â€"œ same as last week)
• dKH â€"œ 8 (API test kit â€"œ same as last week)
• dKH â€"œ 8.5 (Elos test kit â€"œ same as last week)
• Ca â€"œ 440 (Salifert test kit â€"œ up from last week 430)
• Ca â€"œ 450 (Elos test kit â€"œ up from last week 440)
• Mg â€"œ 1290 (Salifert test kit â€"œ down from last week 1350)
• Mg â€"œ 1300 (Elos test kit â€"œ drop from last week 1350)
• Potassium â€"œ390 â€"œ 400 range (Kz Test kit)


I need to slow down my Ca Rx a little I guess as I don’t have much corals in the tank yet…!!


But apart from a slight increase in Ca, all params seem stable with the exception of my PO4, which I hope in coming weeks will come down with the Zeovit maturing….


Also today I went crab hunting and remove 4 gorilla crabs……

I think that is so amazing! I am so glad that coral is alive. It would be awesome if it stayed that color. Wow a 100 million year old fossil huh? I think that's pretty dang rare. Congrats!

Maybe RC should start writing an article about this amazing fossil??

Got myself 2 starfish over the weekend…..

Could not find those sand shifter type so I guess this will have to do… add good colors to the tank thou’ and my son loves it!!




And some pictures of my cleaner Shrimps…

I’ve seen them pull acro crabs out of the across to eat them….really aggressive shrimps. Even when my hands are in there, they will come crawling… !!

Never seen them eating sponge but only algae and leftover food on the sand bed. They are on the glass or rocks most of the time (where there is algae growth)

For those interested, I've adjust my Zeovit dosing slightly to see if I can reduce the PO4 a little faster

Present Dosing as below:

ZeoStart2: 0.65ml 2x /day
Bak: 7 drops 2x /week
PCS: 2ml 2x/ week
Food7: 1 drop 2x/ week
AAHC: 1 drop 2x/ week
CV: 2 drops daily
BB: 2ml daily
PX: 2ml daily
SP: 2 drops 2x/week
Zym: 1 tea spoon 2x/week


New Dosing schedule as below:

Increase ZeoStart2 from 0.65ml 2x /day TO 0.7ml 2x /day
Increase Bak from 7 drops 2x /week TO 8 drops every other day
Increase SP from 2 drops 2x/week TO 4 drops daily


Other element dosing will remain...



Will monitor this for 14 days and adjust accordingly....
