Evil Green Carpet??

I recently had a bad go with a GBTA walking into a powerhead knocking off the gard and getting shredded. Now my female true perc is hosting my xenia. I would like to get a green carpet for the pair, but i hear the are very fast and tend to swallow fish. I have the 2 pers, purple firefish, and a diamond goby. I would hate to loose a fish just because i want the carpet. If its going to be a problem, ill just get another BTA. Experiances?

I love carpets. They do eat fish though. If the clowns begin using it as a host it will reduce the odds of fish becoming a meal.

Im sure any nem will eat fish if givin the chance, but a lot of folks i talk to say they are very fast. Got me a little nervous. Sucks, as they are very beautiful

Haddonis are not bad, but I would absolutely recommend some sort of moonlighting or a night light to prevent having sleepy fish wander into it at night.

mine are very fast when i drop a silverside in them. Still have not lost any fish to them, but the potential is definitely there.

HOLY FREJOLES!! they are FAST....my buddy got a Green carpet not the Haddonis......and it has Anhilated the tank inhabitants.....the count as it stands now.......6 fish!!.....

Its kinda a bit morbid b/c the clarkii hosting in it is such a good "inn keeper"....but just like Norman Bates its not long before someone goes to meet the maker!!

AND the clarkii snatched a small fore fish from the top of the tank and "fed" it to the carpet!!

Needless to say....

its now a carpet and clarkii tank!! LOL

I had a clarkii drag a yellow tang from one end of a 125 to the other and pull it into an anemone. The fish escaped but I was a little shocked to witness the behavior.

I can't even fathom how that's possible...

Well, she grabbed him by the pectoral fin. There was nothing the tang could do. I'm glad all I had was a crispa. A haddoni would have held on for sure.
That was the day before I got store credit for my clarkiis.

My friend had a carpet nem in his tank. I would go over to his house ever couple weeks and it would be a story of which fish it had ate this time. As much as love carpets, I don't think I would get one unless it was just a Clown / Nem tank.
