FedEx stinks!!!!

Well, the package finally arrived around 8:30 and to my big surprise everything is still alive. Though one of the starki is in a rough shape, first swimming in circles and now sitting or laying on the ground.

I would say Blue Zoo does a pretty good job with packing.

Good deal!

Oh, and I understand your frustration. The reality is that, no matter how important that one package is to you or me, it is just another box to someone.

For every person who has had issues with Fedex as many if not more have had the same issues with UPS. No one ships over night through USPS as far as fish suppliers go but if the did you can bet people would have complaints about them too

My post was specifically about ground shipping with FedEx and my experiences with them as company. Not about Overnight Shipping. My point was that they are much slower as a whole than other major carriers not to mention their customer service is sub par, JMO.

OP, glad everything came in ok

One of my biggest complaints with both, FedEx and UPS, is that some of their drivers seem to be unable to read addresses. I can't count anymore how often we got packages that were addressed to neighbors down the road or even at other roads. Our packages equally ended up at wrong houses.
Once A package with live fish got delivered to a neighbor across the street and I only caught it because I saw the FedEx Express driver dropping it off there. Another time our mailman found a FedEx package for us at a house down the road and corrected the error.
Though UPS is actually worst in this department.

It is this that upsets me the most.

With the US Postal Service I at least don't get that kind of screw-up. Though time sensitive things I would rather not send with them.

Yeah. I had a very expensive package delivered (signature required) to the wrong house. They signed for it. UPS said it was delivered correctly. I eventually got it after making a major fuss, but I was really nervous and really angry.

Make sure you contact Blue Zoo and fill them in on what happened. You paid for priority overnight service, which you did not receive. Blue Zoo should be able to recoup the shipping charges from FedEx, and at minimum credit your account. (Even if you got free shipping, Blue Zoo still might get some money back on shipping.) Also, it will be helpful if the Starkii you mentioned doesn't make it.

I had this same thing happen last Christmas. My wife bought me a new Note 4 for Christmas and it was supposed to be delivered a few days after Christmas cause of weather delays. I kept tracking it because it was supposed to be early AM delivery and it was already past time. Then it changed to delivered but wasn't at my house. Turn out it had been deliver to another house a couple blocks away and the person signed for it and then brought it over to my house for me. I couldn't believe it. I was so mad at UPS and so grateful to the lady that brought it to my house for me. She said she figured it was delayed present and didn't want us to have to wait any longer than necessary so she just signed for it.

I contacted them Saturday night via e-mail and updated them this morning.
Though when I left home shortly before noon the fish looked like he would pull trough. Unfortunately both they sent me are males so now I need to figure out what to do with them...

There seems to be a pattern with them all over the US. They need to update their procedures or intensify training of their drivers (and make sure they can actually read and have proper glasses).

That's really sad if it takes training to read addresses... I recommend just dock pay each missed delivery and fire them after x number of screwups per month.

I was waiting for a Sat fish delivery once.. the tracking said delivered so I went out. No box, but the UPS truck kept screaming around the block 3-4 times. Finally it parked a few houses down. After ~ 5min the guy came out and walked to me and said he couldn't find my house, so he finally was using google maps on his phone.

I take from this that (1) the driver has to meet a deadline(12 noon?) so they will mark it as delivered at 11:59; maybe in some cases the driver will just throw it at a neighbor's house to meet the deadline. And (2), the guy eventually was using google maps on his personal phone so perhaps the UPS software is shitty at mapping houses.

The deadlines only apply to Express deliveries, not to standard ground.
Most of our packages that get mixed up should go to a similar address where either the first number is mixed up (8 with 9) or same number but different street. So in those cases I think it is more negligence then mal intent or a way to cut corners.

As for the fish: the larger ones of the Starcki and of the pipefish seemed to have handled the delay well. The smaller ones are still alive but clearly damaged. Those two are not yet out of the woods. Let's see if they make it through the night.

Well, this evening the weak damsel was dead.

The smaller pipefish is also still not out of the woods.

The other starcki and blue stripe are doing good.
