finally got a few good shots of some of my recent favorite SPS

Looks nice man, I love that blue mille. Was that from a local reefer or store?

Need to get me some of that =D

Very nice. And give yourself a little more credit. Your full tank shots are great! :)

Everyone-

Thanks so much for all the kind words. I appreciate that.

But really, I think my full tank shots need some work. Colors are reasonable, if a bit yelow. But the pic just isn't sharp enough. I need to get that tripod.

Gorgeous tank, John.

A Wisconsin tank I'd love to see sometime ... you've got some wonderful corals
Until then ... more pictures!

That's great growth.

Glad to see that cap [originally a gooch piece] is still around.
A few locals have it too ... mine the monti nudis got :(
It was my `canary' piece, very sadly.

Have to go with another color once my tank is nudi-free for a while ... but it couldn't feel better to see a frag of the same coral, thriving and spreading

Mark-

if you need a new frag stop by.

I have the red one growing out pretty good too. Just a little behind the green as I started it a few months later. I have a couple purple ones too - at least they are called purple. To me they look more like light blue-purple-pink, or somewhere in between. Actually they are very nice, but they are only starting to take off. Still small.

Will do, though it'll be a while before I consider myself nudi-free for long enough to add any more. Too many Montipora meant too many small frags, fallen into the rocks, encrusted here + there ...
Soon enough I'll upgrade, have the space for some again :D

For the most part, these colors are right on. the colors in those SPS are very very close to real life. In the full tank shots, there is a little bit of a weird overall yellow color going on. And it messes a little bit with the greens in the tank. Green is about the only color affected.

The hammer, for instance, is extrememly bright in person. Lots of people have commented on that coral when they look at the tank in person (gets more comments than SPS from people for sure). But in the pic there is some slight reflection that messes the color a little. Same with the hydnophora colony near it. The green and red favia behind them is pretty darn close though. Most of the blastos and softies are about right (green center of the blstos is again a little reflected, though)
