My bellus angel, would love to get a male for her

I usually treat Prazi within a week whether the fish is eating or not because I've fish that takes anywhere from 2-7.5 weeks before eating and if the fish have internal parasites it may be too late then. It's more important that you you feel the fish is ready for the treatment. If the fish appears to be weak and not eating then it would be better to delay this till the fish is in better shape. Once I see the fish appears to recover from the shipment after couple of days I'll go ahead and treat. This could be debatable (which I don't want to derail this thread) but appears to see more people treating possible internal parasites (with Prazi) and bacterial infection (with Maracyn 2) at the same time and I just followed this track recently. Treating with both meds at the same time seem to be fine.
Yes, one round of Maracyn 2 and two rounds of Prazi with 25-33% water change in between round.
Survival rate comes down to the luck of the draw as how long they been in the supply chain and where it's coming from. Buy from reputable stores or online vendors with 14 days live guarantee and you should be fine.
Personal experiences:
2 for 3 on Bellus--2 females are still alive and 1 male died from swim bladder issue
2 out of 5 on Watanabe--2 original females still with me (1 transformed to male), 2 subsequent purchase of females died and 1 male died.
Thanks for the infoI usually purchase from LA, because u can't beat that 14 day guarantee and they have always given me great customer service. My only complaint is they don't seem to get as many Bellus or Watanabes as some other online dealers, so as soon as I am ready for their addition, I will have to keep an eye out for a couple of small females. With the help of you & others, hopefully I will get this quarantine step down to science so I can keep my fish healthy & happy.
Have a great day,
Robka
IMO, odds are in your favor...I had 2 females (in separate tanks) and the bigger 1 turned male within 3 weeks of being placed in a new tank, together! Can we put two females together? Would one turn into a male?
Thanks
Frankie
let's bring this back from the dead!! I wanna see some angels!!
Bellus!Hi, there are some beautiful fishes in this thread! I have found 2 females that I like but am unsure which to get. There is a female watanabei and a female bellus. The watanabei has been at the lfs for a month and the bellus for 2. Which would probably be the best to get?
We've had our pair of Bellus Angels for over a year now. Here are a couple of pics:
