Don't do it!

I've had mine for 4 months. First he breaks out with white and black ich... he managed to ride it out and it appears he will survive. Now he is relentlessly bullying the inhabitants of my tank. My poor stary blenny cannot even swim because the minute PBT sees him he darts at him. I'm afraid my stary will starve to death.

A few days ago I bought some green and yellow polyps, MY PBT ate like 30 heads in a day! I noticed he is also blazing through my xenia!

This bastard gets a sheet of treated nori a day and eats his fill omnivore fish food as well.

Worst of all I can't catch this dang thing!

Would a hook and some nori work

well, ive never had a problem with my pbt, did u quarentine first? never put a new fish directly into your dt.all tangs can be bullys, its not just pbt, i would get him out and put in another tank to quarentine hime for a few weeks while u treat the ich.

also, what size tank do u have? pbt need at least a 150 gal tank, they are constantly moving and burn up alot of energy and need to graze , what are ur parramiters?

I've had my PBT for several years now and while she does bully a Blonde Naso sometimes; she's still my fav fish. You have to feed them at least 2x daily (plus nori), as they have voracious appetites. And QT (I recommend prophylactic treatment) is a must with these, as they are very susceptible to Ich.

The solution is to add bigger tang so it can fight back . Worked for me.

Sorry about your experience. Couple of things you should do in the future to avoid these problems. 1st QT and I can't stress this enough! The PBT is not difficult to care for, I have 5 tangs one of which is a Achilles and I don't have problems with her so I would do more reading and research before purchasing any fish in the future.
