Fortunato's 210 Gallon Reef

Hello RC, I've been a memeber for quite some time now but never posted much till very recently. I figured I should make a tank thread to fully initiate myself into this forum, so to speak lol. This tank has been running since 05/01/2010 and is an upgrade from my previous 75 gallon that I had for 2 years. I feel like my progress isnt all that great considering the amount of time I've been doing this but unfortunately a lot of factors are playing into the way my tank is running. I'll start with a small equipment list:

Deltec AP1003 Skimmer
Hammerhead Pump
2 Vortechs MP60W ES
4 160w Pacific Sun Black Pythons
120 gallon Sump
MTC Procal Calcium Reactor
Next-Reef Dual Reactor
Sochting Oxydator W
Neptune Apex (+WXM, PM2, I/O BB, DC4HD)
AWI 4 Stage 100gpd R/O DI Unit
2 Finnex 500w Heaters
Foscam Webcam

And now enough talk, here are some pics for you to be your own judge:

Looks pretty impressive to me. You have a number of healthy looking anemones (including a Mag and a Gig) coexisting in one tank - which is no mean feat!

What kind of lighting are you using?

Thanks for the compliments guys!

Thanks, I appreciate the comment. I guess I'm just my toughest critic, never think it's good enough, at least not compared to other tanks I've seen. I know the blue anemone in the sand looks like a Gig in the picture but it's actually a Haddoni, I had just turned off all the flow to take the pics so that's how it ended up reacting initially. I usually feed when all the flow turns off.

My lighting currently consists of four 160w Pacific Sun Black Python Modules

I see that you have an assorts of anemones in your tank. LTA, BTA, Magnifica, Haddoni carpet...
Visit the Anemone forum sometime. Your experiences with multiple anemone species is great.

Very nice build.

I can see all the pics, but how about an inventory?

What did we not see in there?

Your mangroves are getting there, how long have you had them?

Here's a full stock list of my system:

Building blocks:
500~ pounds of mixed live rock
400~ pounds of live sand
5 gallons of mud

Fish:
Double-bar Rabbitfish
Desjardini Sailfin Tang
Yellow Tang
Scopas Tang
Atlantic Blue Tang
Kole Tang
Vlamingi Tang
Blue Hippo Tang
Yellow Coris Wrasse
Melanurus Wrasse
Algae Blenny
Green Mandarin
Bar Goby (×2)
Niger Trigger
Green Chromis (×3)

Anemones and Clowns:
- Green Bubble Tip Anemone
Green, Speckled Bubble Tip Anemone (mutated on its own from my regular one)
Purplish Green Bubble Tip Anemone (×2)
Rose Bubble Tip Anemone (×3)
Whitish Long Tentacle Anemone
False Percula Clownfish (×5) (host all the above anemones like a 'gang', 1 mated pair spawns constantly and hosts LTA exclusively)
- Blue Carpet Anemone, hosting Black Saddleback Clownfish Pair (female is huge 3.5-4", no spawning yet)
- Orange base Magnifica
Partial Purple Base Magnifica (interesting story)
Pink Skunk Clownfish Pair (host above anemones and a couple RBTAs at times, no spawning yet, fairly new)

500 lbs of rock, 400 lbs of sand, so many anemones....as a 6 gallon edge and 35 gallon owner, your numbers are mind-boggling! The aquarium looks fantastic.

Wow saw your link from another thread and though I would check it out. How long have the mags been in with the haddoni and are you using anything to keep down chemical warfare? I may have missed it but what size tank is this?

Haha I know, sometimes it even scares me when I put it all in numbers. Funny thing is, I would love to upgrade to a 300DD in the very near future but I don't think I'll have to get anything extra, I'm pretty much set up to have a larger tank. Thank you for the compliment, I greatly appreciate it!

Mags and haddoni have been together for almost a year now. No issues really. In terms of chemical warfare, I used to use ROX8 but when I ran out of it I was too lazy to order more so it's been about 2 months without it and no issues although I would like to get it again just as a safety precaution especially with my vacation coming up. The tank size is a 210 gallon 72"X24"X29" :)
