I am not sure on that one, I personally think they are the same thing.

Either the DA's or the AOG's are acceptable for a EF.

From what I can tell from my colonies is that one has curly fringe and one doesn't.

What is the name ??

Nice favia, as far as name goes, isnt that what you yourself was referring to as nuclear favia? Not familiar with this one, could you provide some brief history of where it came from?

For the 3 or 6 EF frags, can they be three identical qualifying frags? Or do they all have to be different?

i.e.: Could I bring 3 qualifying frags of nuclear greens?

Paletta Blue Tip Acro

Paletta Blue Tip Acro

Hey Chris

Here's a picture of it. It was looking pretty bad because my phosphates were too high. When the phosphates are down, like now, the baby blue growth tips are 2-3" long.

If you are not sure I'll frag a piece and photograph it now.

To be blunt, there is a lot of this going around. I'd be surprised if it is an EF.

Sorry, I'm not finding the rule that says maximum 3 identical submissions. Is that limit a rule?

I think it would be more important to have a limit on the number of identical frags for standard frags than exceptional frags. If someone brought a bunch of exceptionals that are identical, that still seems good. It's much better than encouraging 12 frags of kenya tree, GSP or xenia a member brings in.

I agree about someone bringing 12frags of kenya tree. but on the same token.. when someones starting out and thats all they got whatcha gonna say..Don't worry I have no kenya tree's or plan on having any..I do have ALOT of Zoas though

Here you go Eight and Funguy....

All categories of submissions, standard, exceptional and bonus are limited to a max of three of the same coral species.

Frags in either category (exceptional or standard) can be a mix of LPS, SPS, softies and zoas. If you do not have three standard frags to bring you can pick them up at a LFS for around $30.00.

If someone is just starting out and only has Kenya trees we aren't about to turn them away from the swap. However I think the limit on identical frags is to avoid entire tables of BN or Kenya Trees. As I understand it, they can get into the swap but in order to get into the bonus round they would need a mix of corals.

Yes that's correct.
12 of the same something does not qualify for a bonus.
If all you have is kenya tree bring 3 frags and swap as usual with no bonus.

If you want in two EF rounds and Bonus, then you need to bring more than 6 of the same something.
3 of the same EF something, will get you into 1 EF bonus Round.
And the other 3 must be some thing else EF to get into the other two bonus rounds.

Brian,

There is a Paletta Blue Tipped Acro, which is a Loveli if I remember correctly, and a Paletta Blue Acro which is a Vermiculata.

The Blue Tip is very simmilar to the ORA, perhaps even being the same knowing ORA, as I had both at one time or another.

The Blue Acro is exteremly finicky and rare, I had it once and burned it down in no time. I believe Tim said he has tried and failed 3 times with the piece.

The one you have, which I do as well, is green with blue tips and is the Blue Tipped variety, which is the same that Kim has also.

This also happens to be the same piece, (ORA variety), I gave a large colony of with that encrusted Superman AC piece for the monthly raffle.

Fairly common IMO

Hope this helps.
