Free Sketchup Renderings *inquire within*

Ok, I've got another one for you. I messed around with it, trying to render it myself, so I'm not sure if the light sources and stuff are still there. Hopefully it doesn't mess you up too bad...
The material is polished aluminum, if that helps any.

WZHANG, could you do the magic on my skimmer sketch that i am makeing from acrylic (black and clear). Didn't have the nerves to add the pipes -not so important so far :D

Perhaps you could explain more about how you do it, so we wouldn't have to ask you to render models for us every time we do some changes to them?

feel free to repost the model if you decide to you want to add more detail to it.
I realized that the model I had made was 6" radius, instead of 6" diameter, so the proportions were all thrown off. So I re-drew it with the proper dimensions and also took the opportunity to add a little more detail.

Sure, well to start I am using Hypershot for these renderings (bunkspeed.com). Hypershot is like the "sketchup" of rendering software, I really enjoy it for being a very quick program that offers good if not great results.

Anyways, I start by bringing the model into hypershot (which can read sketchup files), then begin setting the textures.

Once the textures are looking correct I set up the environment and play with the camera angles and try to get an image that has good read (nice values, gradients and reflections).

Theres a ton of fun videos on how to use hypershot on their website, and you can even get a free demo (or buy the low res version or a student version of the application for a reasonable price)

As for the models, the more detail added to them creates a more a detailed rendering. So, every detail helps, like seams, gaps, adding material thickness, etc...

::eek2: :eek2: :eek2: :eek2: NICE!!!
Thx for rendering info. I will try it myself if i can find some time but i doubt it will look anything near your rendering.

Keep up the good work!

WZHANG,

Hello from San Diego. Here is a work in progress, you can have a go at it if you have the time. The stand is "borrowed" from RedEDGE2k1's design, the sump is pretty much a Melev design. (don't tell him, but I have been eating up his bandwidth:D ) I am combining a couple of tanks into one, and this is the new home. 120 gal setup

I have only been messing with google sketchup pro for a couple of weeks or so, so it is probably a bit rough.

Regards,

Jim

WZHANG are my hero! I just finished rendering my sketch with all the parts removed and it looks quite good - not nearly as good as yous, but i am happy with it since it's my first rendering :D

Can anyone tell me how do export as a kmz file? I can only save as skp files.

Chibils,

Go to File > Export > 3D Model. The dialog will have the option for Google Earth (*.kmz). HTH.

Regards,

Jim
