Free Sketchup Renderings *inquire within*

Here's a weak rendering of the 120 gal tank (by itself) that is inside the model I posted earlier. Only had hypershot a day or so, and I think that WZHANG does better work than I do. Sorta twiddling my thumbs till he comes back around.

WZHANG,

Your furniture designs are fantastic. Computers are not my best friend (still type with one finger lol).
Love your furniture sketches, very modern. I have seen a few here and admire you skills.

Wish I could get you to design me a package for my tank in my living room. I have had three cabnetmakers come over and all they do is shake there heads and give me the old "I'll fax you a quote". I'm a carpenter but dont want a timber surround (too easy lol).I have some furniture next to the tank I wanted to match in style so i thought the hard work was done??

??

And since you helped me out, here's my version of your sketchup sump, a little modified, but very similar. I am not the artist that WZHANG is, and i am not trying to steal his thunder, bumping the thread for the most part.

Thanks for keeping this thread going guys!

Renderings look great Jim!

I learned that for rendering glass, if you turn the samples up it not only takes longer, but it clears up the black areas.

chippy70,

-thanks for the comments,
I'll send you a pm when I get off work.

I got some catching up to do.

But you guys feel free to share renderings here. I have no problem whats-o-ever! In fact I love it!

well, you seem to have a nack for making it look more realistic than I. I turned up the samples, still had the black, turned up the ray bounces, and the black lessend, however the whole thing washed out. not even worthy of posting. But I am still hoping you find the time to render that model I posted up, as I cant do a thing with it..... :o

Well-- ok, here is another weak rendering... oh there is a steel stand under the wood. A remake of my previous model, it is not on 3d warehouse yet.

What program are you guys using to draw the realistic pictures

The 3d drawing is done with Google Sketchup (a free program), I am using the pro version which is not free. The rendering is done with Bunkspeed Hypershot. There is a plugin for sketchup, that will allow you to export from Sketchup to Hypershot, but i am not sure it works in the free version.

I've tried several and can't seem to get them to work for me. I'm sure it's user error though. The free version of sketchup works great for low demand applications and if you’re too cheap to pay for the pro version, which is pretty much my criteria for a rendering program, free.
