gasman's059 new build!

any updates on your tank

Ok Ok----------- gasman059---------RELOADED--------------------
Same tank same equipment except- full t5 ATI 60 x 8 bulbs.
Natureef denitrator on for 5 months w/o water changes.
Slowly the tank is recuperating and I'm re-introducing my corals.

First time ever keeping an sps tank with t5 only, yes I've even had full vho tanks but never really got into a t5 system. I'm actually liking it lots.

Awesome red Gonipora on the end shot! How long since you got it, Manny?
Is this ORA? What's your experience with it?

hold the freakin press!! you mean to tell me you would rather run full T5s than Leds?
i know how you feel on MH, im the same and swear by them. I was just starting to lean towards leds..You just put me back a year..

Hey gas wuzup a I have the same tank almost 60x24x24 that I am building what do you give you better lighting the 8 t5 or 3 of the big sunlight supply elite with radium 250 and 15 current power bright led what do you think

apples and oranges.

MH -- to hot and expensive fpl.--- still king if u can handle the consumption
T5 some nice color combos out there and minimal heat and less power.

Both good both have drawbacks.

What happened with the LED's?

Luad while i'm still very impressed with the technology, it did not fit my eye even after months of tinkerin.

Not now not in my sps tank- maybe a softie/lps tank. I'm not that good to grow acros like i like with leds.;)

What I like most about this thread is your commitment to stay consistent with the title.

LMAO LMAO well back from the dead here we go again:debi:

Its been a while and for those that remember way back when many many changes and I'm sure many more over the years will come.

This hobby and its advances make you scratch your head over and over.

And after all of this there's always bonehead moves even when you do pay attention to some details.

So by all means trust me Over 20 years Ive made almost every single mistake that can be made while keeping a tank, but every now and then I get it right.

My current schedule include typical 50 gallon changes every month/i do run a denitrator as well as a good skimmer and all T5's- gonna do some experimenting soon with some new reefbrites XHO's this month.

Updated pic aas of today after a good water change-

Funny looking back at this thread when I did decided to document a build it was 08/19/2008------------------------------ many changes many ups and downs but overall after many tanks nothing and I mean nothing will ever change vigilance and proper husnabdry.

"Yes, to water changes..........no no wait! No, to water changes..........ok, ok, let me do water changes once a year.............scratch that! I am going to do water changes monthly again!"
LMAO, Tank is looking nice, Stop letting the crazy dude in your avatar care for your tank and go back to the basics that you know all too well. Good luck!
