i have a gbta that i feed 3 to 4 times a week.

question how long does it take them to reach 12" size ? 6months a year? also i have 14k hqi bulbs

It's not neccessarily true that it will split. Just because it reaches a certain size doesn't mean it will split. Different factors play into a nem splitting.

It may never reach 12". It may split before then. How big is the anemone now?

More than likely it will reach a 12" size even after spliting! They dont split after they hit a certian size. That anemone may get up to 15 inches and then split.Or it could split over night. And even if the anemone was 12" and then split it would more than likely not even put a dent into the size of the anemone!

Thanks,

I said it "may" split. If the anemone gets too big for its environment it will split. It is also true that the anemone "may" never reach 12".

Sorry, I disagree, I've propagated many anemones myself and have also seen them split on their own. A 12" anemone splitting is going to reduce the size. You can't take 12" divide it in half and end up with two 12" anemones.

Ummmm...Not to argue but I propagate anemone also. And they for me only lose about 3 inches in size.So an 1 1/2 on each side if that makes secnce!SO like 9" when they are done splitting.Im not saying that your wrong....this is what just happens to me.

Read the thread "what is a smallish anemone for ocellaris to host?" and see post #10.His anemone split regulaly and was 15 inches.
