I have a little bubble at the top, but it hasn't caused issues so far. My unit is just SLIGHTLY at an angle on the table apparently, so the bubble slides to the side though.

I would assume that no matter what we do, the media will contain some air. As we start circulating, that air will eventually gather at the highest point. Or, as you hooked up your co2, it pushed some in.

I'm thinking your real question is, is it a problem and how do you get rid of it? That I don't know the answer, and am interested myself.

Was wondering about the level thing cause it is off a bit, I have more than one bubble at the top though, more like 10, there not getting sucked up, just sitting there, not sure myself if this is a major concern, I do know that I shouldn't have that many.

The gas bubble's are fine. The great thing about an up flow design is that the CO2 bubbles will be sucked into the pumps intake and pushed up thru the media again.

Join the club. Just received my 618 yesterday.

Questions:

1. The 618 comes with the black tubing for the CO2 connection. Is it the good CO2 tubing or should I use the CO2 graded tubing?

2. The unit comes with a check valve, why then did the manual said that check valve is recommended??

The tubing supplied is the correct tubing.

The addition of a brass check valve is a good safety measure, although I only use the check valve that came with the reactor.

Another questions. I got the RF Deluxe Regulator with the Solenoid. It come with 2 white washer disc? Where should I use the washer discs??

Which Geo skimmer should I go with to replace my old Euroreef 6-2plus, runs off of a Sedra 5000, I need to run this in sump and the base plate would have to be the same dimensions as the Euroreef, I want to go taller though cause I have the room, can go 30".

Any suggestions?

Thanks

Infinitereef,
The washer disk goes in-between the Co2 tank and the regulator. I works like an o-ring. ONLY USE ONE, the other is a back up/replacement.
Take care,
Serdar

wayner1,
Go with the 8" diameter by 30" tall. Great skimmer! Powered by Sedra 9000 or Gen-X.
Good luck,
Serdar

Anyone know how to get a response from George at GEO?? The Kalk reactor I receieved is having a leak issue at one of the fittings. I`ve emailed George 2 times and called and left a message once at the # on their website and have gotten no response in the last week...
I was hoping to see if I could just exchange the part that has a bad fitting epoxied/glued to it or get a new one without having to ship the whole unit back. I hope I didn`t knock on wood earlier saying how great these units were........

I PM'd him here at RC and had a reply within a few hours... He may be at the trade show, I'm not sure how long it runs.

Hop,
Thanks for the info and I hope thats what it is. Just dont want to keep using the unit until I can get a fix for it. Unit in whole works GREAT its just a simple fitting I have a problem with that could cause a nice water leak/loss.

I am looking ot get a calcium reactor from GEO . I have look at all the competers and feel that this is the one for me. My question to anyone out there is what is everything thatis needed to make this work? Can someone please list everything that is need.
Thanks
Michael

trueblackpercula,
You will need a co2 tank, co2 regulator, reactor media and a feed pump. I am not sure if the feed pump is supplied with the reactor as I bought mine used and it had it. It was a maxijet 1200, but I have since changed over to having my return pump feed the reactor. You can also use a ph monitor/ controller with the reactor as there is a port for it in the reactor lid. This is optional, but I use it.

Well I just joing the GEO Club got my 618 in Thursday.

First impressions some of the glueing was a bit sloppy especially around the PH probe in the top of the unit. Honestly though its easily overlooked and I would rather more glue than a leak.

I'm currently running 10 pounds schuran media with about 5 pounds dolomite. I only have fresh water running through it just to check for leaks etc in the garage. I'm about to bring the unit inside and hook it up on the tank and have a few questions.

What are you guys running your PH at in the chamber because I'm trying to setup my PH controller. Also whats the highest I can run the ph and still have it work as I would like to start off slow only because i'm a bit cautious about PH swings and my alk going sky high.

THanks in advance.
Brandon
