no, you will need a get a SIM card..i think it called pay as go

Which pay as you go sim card is best for this? I tried to do a google search for prepaid text messaging, but what I found makes absolutely no sense. They call it prepaid, but there is a daily charge or a monthly charge??? WTH is that? I can get that anywhere ...

What are you folks with this SMS unit using in the States? It might be worth posting wherever you are so that others could benefit ...
