Giesemann Lighting Club.

No adapters were included in my Luxcore ballast. They came with the Spectra. There is a special plug with bare wires included with the Luxcore that plugs into one end of the ballast. The bare wires go into the adapter that came with the Spectra.

Yes, the special plug with bare wires included with Luxcore is what I am asking. Is there some place I can purchase just this plug? I can hard wire the plug to the Spectra then maybe use the Hamilton M80 ballast to power the Radium bulb.

how good are the Giesemann Pulzar LED Bar and where can I buy them online?

I've heard that they have a controller for each channel sold separately, so were can I see a manual or video?

Anyone knows if the 3x250W SE 4x80W T5 Spectra fixture will be able to handle a 72"x48"x24"? I'm not worry about the width of the tank or the height. It's the depth of 48" with a 17" wide fixture that got me concern.

Can someone answer my question about the m80 ballasts. Just looking to see if anyone is running m80 ballasts with their spectra.

I did, they said no dice. Black is all they will have. Been trying to get into contact with Coralvue and I guess they never answer their phones or return VM's :uhoh2:

They are in a middle of a move right now.
Coralvue is normally very prompt.
Also makes no sense BRS can not answer the question, it seems they are going to be the main seller of this fixture.
I bet they sold out of white and will get more in, not only that they should be able to order you one.

Can I ask about the bars you're using. Where'd you get them

I made them by bending conduit and painting them.

I went to home depot and grabbed two pieces of conduit. I grabbed a sales person in the store and asked if they would bend them 90 degrees for me because I didn't want to buy a conduit bender for 2 pieces of conduit and he did it right there. I have done this several time now. Drilled a hole in the conduit to hang the fixture and used conduit/pipe holders to attach to the back of the stand.

Hello, I run a 2x250w custom Spectra with 4x80w T5 with the Giesemann magnetic ballast (Tridonic Atco) and Radium bulbs - it's not quite M80 I guess as I'm in the UK - what is it that you wanted to know? I've run various 250W Spectras over the last few years with Radiums.

If they work well with the fixture

Ok, well the Spectra sold in Europe comes with magnetic ballasts, you have to change them yourself for digital ballasts, it's not a standard option - this is the reason I bought my first Spectra, specifically to run 250w Radiums. It looks great to me so I guess a M80 will run it as good as you can get. Hope that helps.

My 24" matrixx ii with custom built tank mount. I'll post another pic after it has been powder coated.

I am looking at building an SPS dominant tank on a 40 gallon breeder. Do you think the Giesemann T5/LED (Aurora) took much light for a 40 gallon? If not, would the 24 or 36" be preferred?
Thanks in advance for your thoughts.

Definitely not too much light, they're completely customisable. I have the 1.5m fixture on my 1.5m tank. Awesome light!

Here you go folks, Giesemann Matrixx II 6 Lamp modded with a 46" Reef Brite XHO. BUT now I want another Reef Brite for the other side!

Yea I beleive the 8 and 6 bulb are the same fixture they just leave the two outside spaces empty, one each side..

That is a great idea you have and I have been thinking of doing the exact same thing for a while.

Oh man that's sweet. Wish they had made a 6 bulb in the 24" so I could do the same!

Thanks. I can't take credit for the idea... my friend got the same fixture and we did the mod. It was really easy. Cut the reflector, drilled the holes to mount the reef brite, a hole for the reef brite power cord, and done.

You are correct. If you do the mod, I happened to have a 46" Reef Brite so it was the length of my powermodule. If yours is any longer, you would need to cut a little off both ends. Mine fit perfectly once we cut the reflector out. I plan to do the other side when I have some extra funds for another one.
