The dispplay is about 700 gallons, 120Lx48Dx30H. I have a lot of swimming room, none of that biuld a wall in my tank philosophy. The whole tank has all 4 walls open for swimming!

I just have one vlamingi. But right now I have 9 tangs, with one more to add.

Thanks for the comments!!!

I have been following this thread for a long time now and this is truely amazing. Awesome Awesome Awesome, thats about all I can say. Thanks for sharing.

Ditto, thanks for your hard work. Great result.

How difficult is it to manage (clean, physically move stuff, etc.) a tank of this shear size?

only 1 vlamingi? maybe I confused two fish or the shots were from different angles? It looks like the bottom shot is a vlamingi, and the one 2 shots above is a different vlamingi...must be the same fish.

I have discussed this with some notable reefers and they all say that the more fish in the system the more difficult it is to maintain good coral color. I asked Steve Weast about it and he said he recently removed several fish including a vlamingi for that reason.

Please post more info about the chiller

Please post more info about the chiller

It looks like a heat pump to me, how did you modify it to work for your application...

Looks like you have some cyano on the sandbed. I have a similar problem with my 450g tank. Sand-shifting gobies help a lot. May want to consider.

Tank looks amazing. :eek1:

Can you post some updated pics of the surrounding wall from the viewing pane. I want to see how you finsihed the wall around the display tank.

Its not that bad, for the most part it is mostly automated. Except for once a month water changes, and bi-weekly glass scraping of algae (which I hate the most). The rest of the maintenance is not a problem and takes no time; changing carbon, cleaning skimmers, and feeding fish type things...
