How long have you had the anemone?
Has it ever gone walking?
Is it attached to the rock or is it footed in the sand?

I have had the anemone a few weeks

It has never gone walking. It has set its foot in the sand and on a rock.

Omigosh it's tang heaven in there! But one question: How could you have possibly quarantined all of those guys? Or did you skip that? For me whenever I think tang I automatically think ich.

Great job on that monster tank though. It's the stuff that dreams are made of :)

I really didn't quarantine them all. I had them all in separate areas of the sumps until I collected them all. Then they all went in the tank at the same time. I have to collect another 5 tangs, so those will go all in the tank at the same time also once I get them all.

Thanks for the comments!:D

B Stone i have a question? i really want a Sand bed ,but dont want the fine sand I was looking at the sand in your tank. You have the coarser stuff right. Are you putting any wrasses in the tank in the near future.

Just to let ya know about my tank its a 170 with dual 400's 14K BB EUro Reef CS 250 with the dual pumps, I usally siphon out the crap in the bottom that is being accumulated from the fish. I usally take out about 5 gallons of crap in the water filter it out and put the tank water back in to the main display.

So that is why im stopping my self from going to the sand. I used to have a sand bed in my 280 and others. I find to with my tank im hardy cleaning the glass with the hammer head float with coarser sand is it nay better I thought about 1.5-2 " bed.

Nice tank and set-up.

What happens if/when the filter socks start to clog and reduce flow,is there a bypass that I can't see?

As long as you're collecting tangs , collect a Gem tang.:p

If the filter socks start to reduce flow I have a air valve on my overflow that restricts air flow and increases water flow. Once the socks get to clogged (about 5 days) then I replace with ones I just cleaned.

If you have about $2k that I can have then I would get a Gem Tang!!! :D

Yes, I have the crushed coral. I have a deep sand bed in one of my sumps. I like the crushed coral, about 1-1/2" to 2". I really have never cleaned the sand. I am letting it take its course, while adding a lot of flow to keep things suspended.

I do plan on LOTS of wrasses in teh future!
