I too live in Florida, Tampa area...What is this John Penny Camp Reef?

Thanks for posting the pics edr42.

We stayed on Magnetic (or "Maggie" :) ) Island just off Townsville 3 years ago and did our PADI courses at Pleasure Divers there. The couple of "real dives" we did before heading north were a trip out to Wheeler Reef and the Yongala - very memorable and superb diving destinations. Vis was 40m then too so your photos have brought all that experience back.

Thanks again for posting your super pics - look forward to some more! :)

John

I would be very interested in downloading the high res images if you were able to put them on an ftp server. I think they would make some nice framed photos for around the house (not for resale of course). You can PM me if you can provide ftp access to high res images if you don't want to make them public. If you can't provide access to the raw images, they are still great photos and thanks for posting.

What is the best place, in your opinion, to fly into/dive the GBR taking into account water temps, clarity, and reef density? This would be for snorkeling vs. diving so please consider depth to the reef as well.

Thanks

I would also be very interested in access to the high res images. I would love to frame a few for my room.

Oh and I also just finished reading all 21 pages of this thread start to finish and all I can say is wow. Thank you so much for sharing them with us.

I think it's so cool that the coral in the third photo is a new colony. What's amazing is the process of how it got there.

Hi guys,

Sorry for being absent, i've been ridiculously busy.
But, i am now a fully fledged PADI Scuba Instructor! (yay!)

To all of you who sent me PMs and are yet to hear back, sorry! I will get back to you as soon as i can get any sort of spare time, its just a bit mad over here at the moment.

I have many many more photos to share, we were even visited by 6 humpback whales 2 weeks ago, and manta rays as well.
Anyway, hang tight and i'll update as soon as i can.

It looks awesome in Aussy land. I have a friend south of there who has invited me a few times to come visit. Think I'll have to take him up on that invite.

tagging along for anything you'd put up on this thread down the road.

if you wish to share some pics full res, i am sure there would be many people willing to host them here. and if you do - i'll be very very happy.
