Halichoeres leucoxanthus (pic)

commonly called the "Lemon Meringue Wrasse". Fat juvi pictured.
Halichoeres chrysus "Yellow Coris" is a similar species which lacks the white belly.

yes- I have several smaller fishes and critters in my aquarium one might never see.

This is timely for me. I was just on Liveaquaria last week looking for smaller critters. The tangs draw em in but once their nose is on the glass its nice to have other little guys for people to find and marvel at.

Great pic as per normal Gary!

Put a Leopard wrasse in, and all will be certain to notice it before a doctorfish.

That really cool!

I saw one similar in my lfs once but it was just labeled yellow wrasse and they were feeding it minnows.

What does it eat, and how well does it get along with the other fish?
eats typical Halichoeres fare: small meaty foods, pods, etc.

it gets along great with everyone else and nobody else in my aquarium pays particular attention to this fish. A wrasse that eats minnows sounds like it might be a Thalassoma spp. wrasse
