Halide Q & A

Depends on what you're keeping at what depths. I overdrive 250 watt 10k bulbs on a 24" deep tank and stuff at the top of the tank has near perfect color and polyp extension, yet it's difficult to find a place for lower light stuff. Just depends on what you want where

Thinking about going from t5 to MH. I have a 120DT 24"x48"x24". I hope to grow sps in the future. I have a lead on 2- Lumen Bright Mini Wide Pendents with Coralvue dimmable 250w metal halide ballasts. would these work for my tank or should I be looking for 400 watt ballasts and larger pendents?

I bought a halide setup a few months ago for my 75g which is 250x2 in lumenbright large pendents and I have them about 18" from bulb to water surface. But I've been thinking about whether I should change reflectors to something more suitable for my tank size

Is the 175W worth a look on a standard 180 with a mixed reef?

I tryed this for 2 yrs with minimal success. Things were growing but not like I wanted it too. Or the colors I wanted. But they did work.i am now using these reflectors since my tank is only 18" I currently have 3-250w 20k radiums with icecap ballasts.

Anyone have PAR numbers for the Phoenix 14K and Aqua Connect 14k bulbs? I found an old Sanjay article that include the Aqua Connect, but can't fine one with Phoenix info.

Torn on what to do. I have a 180 g 72"x24x24 tank with 3 Radion Gen 3 LED lights on a SPS tank. I absolutely love the looks, no heat, controllablity and actually the colors. However, I really don't feel I'm getting the growth out of the corals like I used to. Also as the corals grow, I really feel I'm going to have to add another light to help with shadowing.

What do people think about removing my center Radion LED and replace it with a 250w 20k Radium bulb and keeping the LED's on the sides? Give me some good light in the middle and spread a little to the sides and give me prized corals in the center an extra boost. Would it work okay and look good together? I run a 15k to 20k with my LED's currently.

Sounds like a good idea, but maybe you add two of the Radiums? So alternate Radion and MH?

Does anyone know if they sell pendants at the 250W anymore? Seems like no many companies make them ? tnx

Alright I need some help with this. I have a 300g display 96"x30"x25" and Im thinking about selling my LED's and going with a MH/t-5 retrofit in my canopy and I wanted to get some input as to how many watts I would need to properly grow sps.

96" long and 30" deep. I would go with 4 - 400 w MH and Two T5's in the front and two T5's behind the MH.

I am looking to buy lumanbrite mini or lumanarc reflectors I need three of them mogul socket let me know if anyone is looking to sell them thanks!

Joe, there is a world of difference between a LumenBrite and a LumenArc. The LB is a spotlight and the LA is a flood light. They are not interchangeable, what are you trying to cover?
