Those are the ventralis anthias. They are hard SOBs to keep alive but sure are beautiful tho.

That's only about a quarter of the colony. It was too big to fit in the frame

Thanks billyzbear! The corals look good individually but overall, the tank isn't quite filled in yet so it's not as nice looking at it as a whole. Another year's growth would be just about right, I think.

Currently, I have 3 females and one of them is transitioning to a male. Two of them I've had over a year, including the transitioning female. The third is about 5-6 months in the tank. Of course, I didn't start out with just these 3. If I were able to keep them all alive, I would have a school of them now

What size sand are you using ?

CaribSea Special Grade aragonite. I like the slightly larger size so it doesn't dune up from the flow like finer sand would.

You're killing me Kenny. Those are some beautiful fishes. Now I'm going to be sad when I get home.
