Has anyone been stung by their anemone, where it caused an allergic reaction beyond a skin rash? I purchased a very large S. gigantea this past weekend. I wear rubber gloves when handling my anemones, but in this particular case, the anemone was so large that it managed to sting me quite a bit on my forearm that wasn't covered. I experienced a painful rash, that later become itchy. This has happened to me before, so I thought nothing of it and treated it with a topical ich medication.
Aside the the typical rash, has anyone experienced other symptoms, such as shortness of breath, feeling lethargic, and/or high/low blood pressure? I was doing some casual reading online and many articles compare anemone stings to jellyfish stings, with potency and severity of the reaction based on species and person's own immune system.
The reason I ask is because while not severe, my left arm -- the one that was stung -- feels unusually "heavy" as if my body is having a harder time moving it. My breathing is also slightly labored, as if I'm having a minor asthma attack. It could be coincidence, but I was wondering if anyone else has been stung by their anemone and experienced similar symptoms.
