I wanted to show everyone that doesn't know what bleached out anemone's look like or maybe is interested and wants to know what the signs of a good one would be as I see so many people take on something that can be fatal from the beginning. Now I took this Magneficia or otherwise known as a Ritteri on the my local clubs bus trip we do yearly to different stores out of state. He was badly beat and was a goner in the chicago fish store I found him at. Well he has made a full recovery and is getting more stunning every day. Now this nem took food feeding every day, proper lighting and just the right stable tank to get him back :D

Bleach anemone:
Short tentacles
Bleached
Bad mouth signs with opening or stretched out
Won't stay on a rock or hold itself up properly

Badly bleached, almost completly gone and looks stressed with short tentacles and being clear/see through

Very nice! That's a very tough species to bring around, good job. Congrats!!

Hmm. There was a thread a few months ago where Bonsainut was asking for examples like this, and I'm pretty sure no one posted a Magnifica. If I can find it, would you mind adding a couple pics or a link? Or heck, I'll do it if you prefer, I just think it would be cool to get all these pics together in one place...

You say propper light, what do you keep it under?

Thanks

Well there is a good number of good lighting out there. The best three are going to be t5's , metal halides, LEDs. All of them have great benefits and some downsides. It all depends on your tank and what you want to keep. Also remember that there is a lot of junk fixtures that will provide you half the light of a decent one, so spend the extra and do it right the first time.
