heatwave is on the way

it's kewl that from the time this thread was originally posted until NOW technology is playing a role in keeping reef aquariums cooler. (MH to LED)

It's overcast at 9AM where I'm located and already tropical outside.

This would be a really bad day for anyone's AC to fail!

I honestly don't understand why people without AC don't just shut their lights down for a heatwave. Surely coral experience cloudy days on the reef, why fret at keeping a tank cool in a 90 degree house with metal halides over the tank. I was one of them, but now that I think about it it's kinda silly. Nothing's going to die over a few days of actinic only.

Then again, I can't understand how anyone here goes without A/C. I own 3 window units in my 1.5 bedroom apartment. I'm from Florida, I'm used to climate control. ;)
