Okay, So i went to best buy and bought a Net-gear Wireless Adapter WNCE3001. I came home and wanted to set it up using my Laptop. It took about 10 minutes but I got the adapter hooked up and was receiving signal no problem!
At this time I had my laptop connected, the adapter connected, a TV in my bedroom on and a tv in my living room on. I hooked up the Apex to the adapter using the ethernet cable, I was able to get to the dashboard of the Apex, but as soon as I clicked on anything both of my wireless cable boxes(living room and bedroom) lost connection and my internet on my laptop loses connection.
I have been told by friends this has to do with the adapters IP address conflicting with other items on the same IP address?! After unplugging, resetting, pulling plugs, hooking up USBs,Ethernet cables doing things in different orders I could not get this thing working to save my life!!
I called Net-gear 24 hour support which is in India of all places, the first customer service rep had me plug and unplug and reset, pretty much all of the same things I told him I already have done. He was about to have me hook the laptop straight to the router so he could remote access but then asked me what I am trying to hook up, I told him the Apex and he transferred me, so after 2.5 hours of doing the exact same thing with the next guy and getting no where, his final answer was it has to do with my internet connection and hung up!!
So as you can see my frustration at this point, I have never had a problem before with tvs, internet or any of my U-verse services . . . .
IS THERE ANYONE OUT THERE THAT CAN WALK ME THROUGH SETTING THIS UP, I WOULD BE FOREVER GRATEFUL!!!!
thanks in advance!
