I would really like a carpet anem but Im to afraid of it eating all my other fish. I wasnt somthinging that wont take the black off my onyx clowns I know bts do that I am thinking about an Heteractis magnifica I was wandering if some people could post some pics of theirs up? I would like one that has a lot of color to it but I just want to see some other peoples before deciding. Or does anyone know of any other really cool nems that wont strip the black off clowns and wont eat my fish?

You prob want a H. crispa. H. magnifica can cause color fade of A. percula also like BTA. H. crispa is a natural host of A. percula also and no fade in color. Easier to keep also stay on sand bed like Haddoni carpet.

Magnifica can cause big time color fade

I have a small perc onyx misbar in a Mag, had lots of black when I got it. Now the black is ALL gone.

I have another Mag with tomatoes in it. They have very nice sharp color. Dark body with bright, bright orange on the fins.

I am not sure if it is from the anemone or the fish, but I have a Onyx pair that lost most of their color in a H. magnifica and a baby of this pair that is fully completely Onyx, and another baby have no black (from the same hatch) at 4 month of age in this same anemone.
It is strange to see this pair of baby A. percula from the same hatch. One completely black while the other have no black at all, both in the same anemone.

thats cool any pics?

Here's the guy I'm talking about. The upper 2/3 used to be black. Mama tomato clown is on the lower left. It's a misbar onyx in a mag, who now looks like just a typical reject of a clown, who has permanent residence in a nice house!

Here's papa tomato. Nice bright color on fins, dark body.

These guys have really dark black, the little they have. BTA and false percs. I don't breed them. The tile is for a guy who wants to try raising them, otherwise they turn into skimmer juice.

What you REALLY want a S. Gigantea for black to remain dark for sure.

My h.mag caused my picasso to loose its black but my wild caught true perc didnt loose any of its black. I dont really care because the anemone is awsome and the clowns love the thing!

yea I think I am going to say screw my other fish and just get a carpet. Does anyone know if 2 carpets can touch each-other?

ive got a H magnifica its huge, and grows bigger pratically every day, ive had it about 3 months and hasnt moved 2" either way supprisingly

You know I have a big spot on my 175gal to try an H. Magnifica, now I hear they move a lot, I´m planning to place a set up rocks higher than normal and under the 250 watt 20 000k ushio in order to entice it to stay on that spot, if it moves I have mostly SPS that are placed in rocks I can move.

If it starts moving does it instantly damage SPS?, or it takes a little while of rubbing to cause that effect?, I have some great pieces I wouldn´t like to see damaged.

Also what´s the best food to entice them to eat?.

I have 3x250 watt HQI with lumenmax elite reflectors and galaxy ballasts, its a 170 gal display tank, the flow is really good and I can place a vortech on its way.
