Holy reefer!!!! Dd 250 custom

Thanks Lucid!

Watch for a picture the middle of next week...I have acquired a fish that is truly 1 in a million. In thirty years I have NEVER seen a color morph like this one.....

Thanks for staying tuned!

Beautiful tanks and pond, very tastefully done. Can I ask where you bought your ro holding tank and mixing tanks? Can't wait to see what fish you have coming.

Thank sincerly Tracey!

I bought the R.O. holding tank (325 gal.) from an RC member here. The salt water mix/holding tank I bought from a local hobbyist also. I just got a little lucky on those.
But I do see tanks on that "worlds largest auction site" all the time that might work for you as well...?

The fish is so rare that I don't even want to jinx it by showing a pic of it until it is in my possession.....

Tee,
That pond and landscaping looks incredible. Nice NICE NICE WORK!!!

now lets see the tank. I suspect that i will be in North Carolina one day before the end of the year possibly. I would love to come visit you. Ill bring you the beer

Thanks Padrino!

I love the "process" of making things. It is difficult to understand from photos - but where the gazebo sits was the HIGH spot of the property ( aside from the mountain behind the house )- before the blasting/grading and 135 large dump truck loads of dirt ( to create the yard).

Just let me know when to expect you! We love to have visitors! - especially ones with beer:beer:!

Teesquare,

What is the depth of the overflow? It looks about 6 inches deep (left to right) to accommodate the overflow piping. I'm looking at replicating a system very similar to yours. Are you still happy with the overflow and how it is working?

Thanks

scurvy - it is actually 11'' in depth ( or - left to right) and 6-7/8'' tall.

I love how it is working. I would change two things:
1. I would delete on of the main siphons. It just is not needed with even a Hammerhead (5800 gph) pump.
2. I would rotate the plumbing in the overflow box 90 degrees in order to make the box narrower. Is is nice to be able to reach in there and remove any thing needed ( Usually a snail - I have not lost a fish in there yet).

I also sent you a PM.

i remember when you made me dry the tank out with a roll of paper towels!
i still want to get a piece of the blue(now purple) plasticy coral after i build my LED addon!

Now Dylan...I did not "make" you clean it out with paper towels...I just held my thumb above the button on the shock collar remote you wear wearing :lol2: You definitely any coral frags you want!

Rc- Thanks!

Just 2 updates...
The fish -...well, it was lost in the wholesalrers tank. Seems an idiot put a XL Show size Naso Tang in with it, and the Naso slashed it to death.

And - I don't think I ever posted the YouTube video of the actual water jetting of the front and rear glass panes of my tank. These were taken by Marineland-

The fish was a color morph or an abnormal coloratio ( not sure which is correct) of an African yellow bellied blue tang

That is just it padrino...I did not get it.... But it was because of a foolish individual My LFS guy told me the story about - and was obviously frustrated by it. He volunteered to pay the wholesale up front for it - but the wholesaler said not necessary, would hold it for the rest of the fish and coral order.
And it really was not the wholesalers fault either - based on the "story." One of the LFS people at teh city where the wholesaler is located came in and picked out his own stuff, and put a much larger male Naso Tang in the tank where my Blue Tang was. The guy just did not understand/think/know what would take place I suppose.....

Well - I feel bad for the fish, the wholesaler - and the LFS guy. I am willing to bet HE got the butt-chewing of a lifetime!
