Hi Guys, Yerterday, I ordered some fish, snails and corals from liveaquaria.com for the first time. I received an order conformation email but not the shipping info. How long does it usually take for liveaquaria to ship orders?

Depends on the time of day of the order, but they usually ship within 24 hours. The confirmation is an auto respond. I usually get the ship email about 6pm EST

Liveaquaria orders like this ship directly from quality marine, so Liveaquaria has no control over when the livestock are shipped out

To the OP. I assume you have a QT ready for your new fish?

Here is a thread for the preferred method of acclimation, please read

Here is the SG that LA and DD ship the livestock at
What specific gravity do you keep your livestock?
The California facility maintains a specific gravity of 1.018- 1.020 for fish and 1.023 - 1.025 for corals and inverts at a water temperature of 76 degrees Fahrenheit. At our Aquaculture Coral & Marine Life Facility, the Coral System maintains a specific gravity of 1.025 at a water temperature of 76-78 degrees Fahrenheit. The Fish System maintains a specific gravity of 1.025 at a temperature of 76-78 degrees Fahrenheit

You should not move the SG of the water more than .002 per day

Also it would be advised to to the TTM to prevent Ick, before a 4 week QT

hkgar, yes my qt is running. I do not constantly maintain a qt with water in it and operate one only when I get new fish or when I need a hospital tank. For my qt I take water from my display tank and fill the qt up to 4/3 of its volume. I hook up a UV sterilizer to the qt and run it for 48 hours. Next I take out the UV and place a HOB filter. Into this HOB filter, I put seachem matrix that remained in my refugium for at least 2 months. I sometimes turn the UV for another 24 hours just in case I introduced something with the matrix in to the qt. After this my qt has a fairly good bio-filter.

When the fish arrive I measure the sg of water inside the bags (lucky I never had a case where water in different bags had different sg because I do not have multiple qt tanks). My dt runs at ~1.027 so I have never come across a case where bags had higher sg than mine :). According to the sg of water in bags, I dilute the water in qt (since I have empty volume to operate with). First week I do not add any medication but turn on the UV and adjust sg to my dt level. During this fist week, I observe fish and I am more concerned with if the fish are eating (medication can cause loss of appetite). After they start to eat regularly and act relaxed, I continue with the medication depending on the specie.

Fish and coral I ordered are coming from Wisconsin facility. Shrimps and snails I ordered on the other hand are coming from cali. facility.

Ran into this myself. Confirmation of order. Next day no confirmation of shipping.

Called in to ask. They contacted supplier and there was an issue with the health of the fish in stock and they weren't comfortable shipping them until they were better.

This is probably the same case you're experiencing now.

I just received the shipping conformation. Changed the whole thing I was writing :)

Orders like what? LA ships from CA, DD ships from WI and ORA ships from FL.

Here is all you need to know about LA shipping:

Yeah so everything he mentioned ships from QM, Not DD... LA stocks 0 things. It all comes from QM like I said... or it comes from a place called CIS Holdings also in Southern California where all of Petco fish come from. ORA things come from Florida, but as of late their shipping survival for fish hasn't been stellar
