How rare is this?

We went out again last night. Camera battery was playing up so not many photos. :thumbdown

Another nice nudi.

We think this is an adult Darwin Jawfish (Opistognathus darwiniensis)

One that has been attacked by something. Poor bugger was missing a few tentacles.

Dendro.

Always something unusual. So have saved the best for last. We found this turtle trapped in a rock pool waiting for the tide to come in.

What kind of crab is that on the turtles shell?

Thank you very much for sharing your experiences with us. I live in Florida and even the secret places that I know don't have that much marine life.

truly amazing :eek2:
this is what i want to be able to do once i get my cold water tank set up. of course the things around here (Massachusetts) aren't nearly as cool as what you have there but you would be surprised what you can find!

I'm at home with a broken foot, so I spent the afternoon reading this wonderful thread.
Thanks again for sharing your beautiful country with us!

Great awesome everything else

Great awesome everything else

I must say I've went thru this whole thread it is just amazing Lewy thank you for the great pics that most of us may never see anything like that ever in our lives please keep up the good work and send me some live rock .....LOL unless you do ...? :jester::fun2::fun2:

Amazing thread, Lewy. I grew up in the Philippines and as a kid, I had a backyard like that :) Your photos brought back some childhood memories.

Thanks for the photos, I'll keep coming back for your updates. Australia is beautiful, mate!!

Cheers! :)

Really nice tank. I don't know if this was asked already, but have you ever tested the water params around the tide pools ?

Lewy I am also curious if you would be willing to take some samples of the water and test it... ph, SG, etc... :)

i love australia! <3

do you ever get worried for the "elusive" darwin crocs? every time ive been up north ive always been worried!

I envy you SO much. It cost me an arm and a leg to stock my tanks... That scribble angle you showed in one of the earlier pics (not that I have room for something like that in my tanks anyway) would cost probably near $400 around here. Those anemones + acros would be going for $60 + a pop.

Some people have all the luck... :p

so i just read through all 28 pages and i have to say your VERY LUCKY... that s crazy cool you can just venture out to the tide pools like that... thanks for all the photos and post... really a great read.
