How rare is this?

This is a really great log.
Please keep it up!!! It is wonderful to see all the wildlife. It helps me remember how special these animals are.

Thank you for sharing all the great pics.

I love threads like these.

It seems to me the corals are not quite as fragile as some people would lead you to believe.

I am curious if you can supply more information on your tank setup.

I may be wrong, but I am guessing you do not have all the many different pieces of equipment that people purchase to keep every parameter just right.

ha ha .. you would not believe the amount of gear I have running the little cube.

Where we are a chiller is a must and anything over 30deg C things will not live and melt. So I keep it at 27.

Lighting is 8 bulb ATi Powermodule. Even though I have access to NSW which I collect and store. I am lazy with my water changes. I change every 5 to 6 weeks.

So dosing with two part to keep my levels right.

Always experimenting with things so at the moment I am mucking around with Zeovit and also bio pellets.

Happy New Year to you all.

Dug this photo up from a month or two ago. We had just finished collecting some water for our tanks down at a small boat ramp.

Sums it all up for the year.

Happy New Year, mate

but you're already on January 2, 2011!

Keep the pictures coming- I savor each and every one of them.

Wow! is all I can say just signed up on this forum today and read through this entire thread and the pictures are amazing, how jealous am I of you Lewy I would love to live down under to see all the amazing reefs. I live in Utah, USA and needless to say the only real reefs I get to see are in tanks which are beautiful but can't compare to the real ones in the wild

Happy New Years to you too mate!

damn

damn

Pretty cool I wish we had stuff like that in our water.

about the only thing we have over here green water from the bums taking baths and teenagers throwing their old mcdonalds wrappers and beer cans in the water

Amazing pictures!

I moved to Sydney recently from the states and I must get up to Darwin so I can see this stuff in the wild. I think the closest thing in Sydney would be seeing some fish while snorkelling near Manly.

Looking forward to the next batch of pictures..

Thank you for posting all those terrific picture. Isn't Mother Nature amazing- she grows 5 foot SPS corals in direct sunlight without water 12 hrs a day, and I can't grow 1" of SPS in perfect water with $5000 worth of support equipment!

I am no expert, just another subscriber to this beautiful tread, but maybe we're adding too much to our tanks as far as chemicals or additives are concerned. Please feel free to add any info you can share, especially those members from the reer chemistry forums.
