How rare is this?

Ive been reading forums on this site for a long time and never posted anything. Just found this thread and looked over the whole thing. Very cool. I do similar tide pool searches on the west coast of Florida where I live but we dont have anything close to that. Just awesome

Best for last again.
It is our wet season now and the nuisance algae has gone away. But conditions must be perfect for these things.

They were everywhere!

Great pictures. What is a Flat head, some kind of cat fish? I see the large fish there tp 1/2 of the picture.

It's a predator fish, it blends in with the sand to ambush it's food, a bit of a surprise to find one on the reef though, and not half bad tasting!

Hi Lewy,

I am another reefer in absolute awe of this thread!

I have finally finished reading and am absolutely stunned :spin1: by your fantastic pictures.

Thank you:thumbsup:

Loved this thread. Read the entire thing.. All 38 pages.. haha. It's amazing to see pictures of corals in the wild and their placement as opposed to the placement us hobbyists use in building our own home reefs. Something regarded as a "lower light" coral like euphyllia, lobos, maze corals, and favites growing side by side next to acropora. Goes to show you most hobbyists has no clue as to the real amount of light preferred by some corals. Anyone else seeing this?

Wow! First thread I've ever read 38 pages straight. If u ever want to visit indiana let me know and we can swap houses for a week or two. ;)
